SORY KABA: 'OPEN' TO BLUEBIRD SUMMER RETURN

Fri Mar 17, 2023 7:54 pm

Cardiff City loan striker Sory Kaba has revealed he would be interesting in returning to the club in the summer window.
By James Ray

Cardiff City brought Kaba to South Wales in January, adding him to their attacking ranks in the hope of bringing some more firepower to their frontline. He’s made a good impression since his arrival too, even if the goals haven’t necessarily been flying in.

His physicality has been important in the Bluebirds’ upturn in form, managing two goals in six games.

The 27-year-old is only with the club on a temporary basis but now, he’s said he would be open to extending his stay beyond the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

As quoted by Wales Online, Kaba said it has been his dream to play in the EFL and while he would be keen on a return, his focus is on the task at hand for now.

Yeah,” he said when asked about a summer return.

“For now I am just focusing on doing good here. My dream was coming to English football and I am very, very happy Cardiff opened the door for me.

“So, I will give everything until that moment and we will see what will happen. But for me, my dream was always to play in England.

Impressing with the Bluebirds

Kaba’s good impression will inevitably lead to hopes that he can stay on a longer basis, although they aren’t allowed to part ways with transfer funds at the moment as part of their embargo.

If that could be lifted, then a permanent move could be on the cards. Kaba has impressed in the Championship so far and given his dream if playing in the EFL regularly, it could be an easy enough deal to strike.

Kaba’s future will also depend on what parent club FC Midtjylland plan on doing with him too. His deal with the Danish side runs out at the end of the 2023/24 campaign and he was a pretty regular starter for the club before his switch to South Wales.

Would be a good signing next season for the £1M or out of contract as reported of late .

I still feel he can improve and there’s more to come from him.

His all round game is poor but he can put the ball in the net in fairness

Not sure if I would pay for him but would be a good signing if he was free

Agree a decent free transfer but nowhere near worth 1million. Two great headed goals but not convinced hold up play and all round game is good enough

I agree there's more to come from him, he's still learning the league and getting used to the pace of the championship.
The guys got plenty of heart though can see how much winning means to him
