Lennon Peake

Fri Mar 17, 2023 5:02 pm

Any news on how Lennon Peake is doing for the U21's? Understand he was injured coming into the club but was hoping he'd feature for the first team at some point towards the tail end of the season.
Maybe not quite ready and one for the future? Although I thought he was only on loan so seems a bit of an odd move unless it's essentially a long trial and we're looking to buy?
Heard pretty good things from a mate who used to be a part of the West Ham youth setup

Played the second half today and got a good assist by all accounts :thumbright: :bluebird:

Looks like they are easing him gentle Not started a game yet for the under 21s One poster did post about the last game he thought he looked like a pub player but that i think is a harsh assessment on the 20 odd minutes he played
People on here have bigged him up , so many fans will be expecting a lot from him. However with nearly two years out of the game I can’t see him doing anything for 1st this season Only time will tell if the faith a few have of him on this site is justified

Yes, that poster was on a wind up (polite version) and the coaching staffs at the game were more than pleased with both his contribution and longevity after he played around an hour when 45 mins was the plan...

Only time (and that is important) will tell but hope are high for the lad... :ayatollah:

And once again you backed him up .
Since then that poster has contacted me and said he had never seen him play and apologised as it was just a wind up.

Yes I have bigged him up because he is quality , but needed games and due to City’s embargo he lost 2 months of games.

Your continued digs, so a player who has spent nearly 15 yrs at West Ham you are believing he’s more like a pub player????

We are not talking about Ollie Tanner who was playing at FC Lewis who can’t get in to a struggling non league side.

You should want Lennon to do well for the good of Cardiff City.

I’ve never really heard of him but from the little I’ve read there’s virtually no chance of him being involved this season.
Which is fine by me.
Take your time, get fitter slowly and a good pre-season should do the trick.
Hopefully we’ll see him next season firing on all cylinders and he’ll be an asset and not a sick note.

I agree they will struggle to get him fully fit as he went months without games waiting on City to finalise the deal.

But there is no rush, better he makes fully next season.

But they are trying now to try and get him fit for the last few games, personally like you I can’t see it.

Did you read what I actually stated You are saying I backed his comment up I stated i thought it was harsh and for one how woukd i know he contacted you to say it was a wind up . Secondly I mentioned he has been injured and needs time with the club easing him gently.
Yes you have great confidence in him As yet he has only played for West Ham’s academy and hardly in the last two years. I want every player to be a success at Cardiff but at this stage apart from a few on the site who have seen him play pre injury I have only seen a few minutes of his play time
We have had players that have come out of the Manchester United academies come and play for us and done nothing So just because he has been at West Ham means nothing at this stage.
However I do hope he is a superstar and makes us a fortune

The reason I said this as when the clown the other day said it all and you were straight on it and I explained all this then and once again you repeated the clowns words.

I do agree we have brought loads of players in that have been a waste of time and yes I am behind Lennon more than ever because I know what I’ve seen when he was younger .

The problem here Annis, is that some read the 'headlines' rather than the content. People like the clown last week know exactly what they are doing and comments from others (in this case Abergavenny) just compound the effect they seek to have; even though the original comments may (were in this case) shown to be what they were, i.e. deliberate vindictiveness...

Exactly Chris,

These so called City fans need to support the lad, he had two years of hell and chose Cardiff over three other clubs. :bluebird:

Got to be honest Annis and I hope we don't throw him in this season and comes out all guns blazing next season nice and fresh and hungry.

No need to rush him back & risk further injury, we are what we are this season & Messi wouldn't change it. Give him a few outings in the U21s & let him come back gradually so he's raring to prove the naysayers wrong wherever we're playing.
