MY VIEW: A DIRE GAME THAT NEVER REALLY CAME TO LIFE / BUT A VERY NEEDED POINT FOR CARDIFF CITY :bluebird:

Beggars cant be choosers as the saying goes.

Cardiff were very fortunate to get a point.

WBA had lost their last 5 away games in a row, they don’t travel well.

Sabri Lamouchi: 9 Games Won 3 Drawn 1 Lost 5

Where was the passion, fire, belief or quality Lamouchi promised us from our team, because it certainly was not there tonight.

Over all a very dire game by Cardiff, but a very much needed point :bluebird:

FIRST-HALF: Just before the Albion goal, Albion had had 60% of the possession.

GOAL! Cardiff City 0-1 West Brom (Dike 17)
Goal. Wallace with the cross and Dike got it across Ng and volleyed home first time at the near post.

22nd min, Davies had a chance and was well wide with his shot.

NO Shots on target by Cardiff

Dire first-half, NO passion, fight or quality

Wintle fought for everything :bluebird:

SECOND-HALF: Kaba was straight on for Isaak Davies.

47th min: Wallace smashed a shot15 yards out but Allsop made a top save.
Could of been 2nil.

Against the run of play
65th min: GOAL! Cardiff City 1-1 West Brom (Kaba 65) :bluebird: :bluebird:
Goal! Kaba heads home! :bluebird: :bluebird:

Immediately after WBA goal disallowed! offside! :thumbright: :thumbright:

71st min: Ojo off, Mark Harris on.

82nd: Rinomhota on for Etete.

Albion for me deserved to have won this game.

Cardiff had to defend well.

CARDIFF CITY 1 WBA 1 :bluebird:

Would have settled for a point before the game & after going behind I thought there was no way we would score. It could have been a lot worse so happy enough with the result.

We didn't deserve a point in my opinion, but we'll take it. Would have taken a point before kick off.

Could be a big point by the end of the season.

That first half was awful and only a little bit better in the second half.

West Brom will feel they deserved to win.

We were a bit lucky tonight. A point gained.
Could be a very important one! :bluebird: :bluebird:

Massive point in my eyes especially as we were very poor.

Absolutely awful first half but gave it go and somehow salvaged a point. Could be crucial. Kaba is proving to be a good signing. Doesn't do everything right but importantly he finds the knack of scoring. He could be the difference in keeping us up.

In all fairness to Lamouchi, he can only use the tools he’s been given.

There’s definitely been a change in some of the players’ attitudes since he has come in.

He needs the summer to mould this team. Ironically we’re not far away from a really good team. We seem to go missing in the final 3rd, the build up play is always very good until the final 3rd.

Few tweaks with new players coming in, in the summer and I think we will be good enough for a play-off push next season.

Just have to focus on getting out of shit street this season, which we are on course to do at the moment.

Etete best game
ran his socks of nice touches and took defenders on missing robinson though

Cardiff have gone back to the days of Hudson/Morison when they work it up the pitch, go wide and cross it in. If that's the ploy, Kaba has to be playing with Etete. Etete was getting eaten up.

Isaak Davies,
It just didn't work, bringing him back in the side. He was brought in to stretch the defence but scarcely did that. Had one good chance when a deflected shot fell into his path, but he could only hit the side netting. Off at the break.

See, Im going to go against the grain tonight, and say our 2nd half performance just about deserved a point.

We seemed to play 10M further upfield, closed down a little better, and tried to get more balls into the box.

No we didnt play well, at all really. But second half we made WBA work, have them something to think about. Albion, second half werent the threat they were 1st half.

Their subs of Dike, and Swift, might have been a tad arrogant thinking the game was won. They were the two most dangerous players on the pitch.

Finally, Davies going off was the right move. We have to draw a line. The so called 'kids' experiment has to stop. Get rid and replace with better players. It wont be difficult to find better quality.

Its all about opinions. Wasn't his worst game, but not his best. Still looks awkward and his ability to be in the right place at the right time needs plenty of work.

His energy today and desire to get back and help defend was a plus.

Good god Barclay I actually agree with every point you’ve made here.
I was there and firmly believe we deserved a point after a really poor first half.

Nice to be positive though isn’t it? :D

Me too.

I thought once we changed shape and took Davies off we looked much better balanced and gave the WBA defenders something to think about.

Wintle, McGuiness and Philogene were excellent. Kaba looks slow and cumbersome at times but he puts himself about and certainly gets himself in the right areas in the box which is what we needed.

Wasn't a great game but I thought WBA thought the game was won once they went 1-0 up. However City kept going and I think overall deserved a point. Krba is no where near the complete striker but keeps popping up with vital goals and could be the signing that keeps us up? I will be at Rotherham on Daturday and it is a must not lose game but if we could win there I think we will definitely stay up. I think QPR are in free fall and could well end up being one if the three to go down!

I'd have willingly taken a point before the game and felt we deserved the one we got, as the team battled against an organised West Brom team

Keeps the status quo in the table, as those around us (Blackpool apart) failed to take advantage and we find those below us at least two wins away from overtaking us with 9 games to go

Not a great game, missed chances again, a few nice phases but we're still short of the ruthless precision finishes that better clubs with quality have. Kaba made the difference and needs to be fed more, we miss Robbo for sure too and Wickham, as defenders hate having to deal with him.

A massively important point though and we came back after conceding and possibly could have got a other if it wasn't from the above, so a 4pt cushion and a goal of another 9pts from a possible 27 for safety. WBA are just off the playoffs and not a bad side, not great but not bad.

The one thing that does disappoint me is that we are not playing with the application of a team that is staring in the face of relegation. SL said in presser in so many words that we should be, he pins the league table up for all to see how right it is, especially after the Blackpool result last night. The squad need to be playing with a survive at all costs mentality , we've seen glimpses but I want to see measured aggressive and ruthless performances that you get from teams when you have a gun pointed at your head.

Thought we were the better team first half with more attacks and goal attempts. Unfortunately, we gave away yet another soft goal and our 2 inexperienced lads up front couldn't provide a threat.

Second half, we had Kaba on, a more experienced striker who knows what positions to get into better and I thought our equaliser was well deserved.

I thought we continued being slightly the better team after our equaliser, but then Allsop did some more of his ridiculously mad charges off his line, nearly costing us a goal and after substitutions were made for both teams, West Brom finished the stronger and the final whistle saved us from conceding again from a very ragged ending. Perhaps West Brom making extra subs gave them fresher legs to finish stronger than us.

Overall, I thought it was a decent performance and a well deserved point, but Allsop worries me more and more each game with his mistimed charges off his line. Tonight also showed Robinson and Wickham are massive losses. Only Kaba gave us a goal threat, Etete works hard but still has lots to learn at this level.

Against the better teams like West Brom, we need strikers who are experienced at this level and know what they're doing with decision making and positioning sense. Etete and Davies as a front pairing didn't work and were easily dealt with, but they will both hopefully learn and improve from tonight's experience.

I actually thought our first half performance was better than our second half performance and I think people need to concentrate on our actual performance and not get influenced by the scoreline. If we were level at half time instead of losing, I think everyone would agree we had the better of the first half.
