Love the faith but sadly absolutely no chance for me. A grim week ahead with another 0 v 2 defeat and the gap will be down to 3 points as teams below us eventually will win. The Rotherham game is crucial. we have to win that. I still think staying up is 50/50 even with the current 6 point advantage but at least we have that advantage. Cardiff City boss Sabri Lamouchi admits his side cannot afford to dwell on Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Preston North End.

Goals from Tom Cannon and Ched Evans proved enough to condemn the Bluebirds to defeat at Deepdale, their 5th defeat in 8 games under Lamouchi and now with Lamouchi left to rue what he regarded as 'stupid' mistakes.



Cardiff go again on Wednesday night, with West Bromwich Albion the visitors to the Cardiff City Stadium, and the Frenchman says his side need to quickly muster up a positive response.

“We need to move on and have a rest, and fortunately we have a game in three days at home again," he said. "We need to think about our mistake and of course focus on the next one.

Cardiff sweating on duo ahead of Baggies test

Cardiff City are facing an anxious wait on senior duo Connor Wickham and Joe Ralls ahead of Wednesday night's clash with West Bromwich Albion.


On the duo, Lamouchi said: "They were injured for the Preston game. We need absolutely everybody and unfortunately for the last session, Joe and Connor felt something so they couldn't travel with us."

It remains to be seen whether either player will be in contention for the game at the Cardiff City Stadium, although one man definitely ruled out is defender Cedric Kipre due to the terms of his loan from the Baggies.

Carlos Corberan was full of praise for the mentality his West Brom side following their 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the weekend, but insists there's still plenty of room for improvement ahead of their trip to the Welsh capital.

The Baggies are doing well at home, but have lost their last 5 away games in a row.


A John Swift penalty was enough to seal all three points for Albion and move them to within three points of the play-off places ahead of their midweek clash with the Bluebirds, but the Baggies boss clearly believes there are areas to work on.

He said: “We needed to compete well and we did that, without performing as well as we can. We are going to keep working to play better in games and become more dominant.

“Expectation never really helps. What helps is staying focused on the job you have to do which is what the players have done over the last few days here at The Hawthorns. They had the right mentality to achieve the three points which were necessary today.”
