MY VIEW: MID TABLE PRESTON PUT CARDIFF TO THE TODAY & FO

MY VIEW:

MID TABLE PRESTON PUT CARDIFF TO THE SWORD FOR ME IT SHOWS WE HAVE A LOT TO DO STILL & WILL NEED A BIG OVERHAUL NEXT SUMMER.

The local media once again have gone over the top after a couple wins suddenly making the team sound like world beaters, WE ARE NOT.

“Cardiff are 21st in the Championship and as all managers say we are there because we deserve to be.”

Just my view City struggle against mid table and above opposition and the quality is not there.

Personally I thought Preston were poor and were there for the taking.

SABRI LAMOUCHI:

GAMES 8 WON 3 LOST 5

Our strikers are not quality and we will play well but will always struggle due to our finishing

Still on the fence regarding Lamouchi.

But stand by this squad is not quality.

We are still 21st in the Championship.

My worry is we go 1nil down and no way back.

Preston a very mediocre team, scored
FIRST-HALF: Some good defending by Cardiff, awful first-half over all, dire, two poor Championship clubs. Philogene is quality.
Etete for me misses beyond good chances.
Some good Bluebird defending and held firm.

91st min: Red card. Alnwick sent off!

SECOND-HALF: 50-50. 64th min: Ojo on for Kaba.
Cardiff City 0-1 Preston North End (Cannon 67)
Goal. Cannon scores.
Cunningham with a hopeful ball down the channel and Cannon outmuscles Kipre, taking control of the ball beautifullt in the process.

McGuinness slides across but Cannon lifts it over him and Alnwick and into the net.

72nd min: Mark Harris on for Rinomhota.

GOAL! Preston North End 2-0 Cardiff City (Evans 90+3)
Goal. Evans scores.

PRESTON 2 CARDIFF CITY 0

The scoreline hugely flatters Preston. Poor game but we were the better side until they scored. Same story though, if you cant score you lose football matches. Even though we are still 6 points clear we are very much in a desperate position. 18 defeats this season says it all. We are dreadful and cant wait for this season to end.

Need to finish our chances , should of won that game , I thought we were all over them majority of the game
Let’s get 3 on the bounce now wensday home

Subs killed the game. Etete is nowhere near ready to lead the line, he is OK as a second striker. It's all about Connar Wickham's fitness for our season IMO.

Making up 6 points at the bottom takes a lot, but this has been a shit season with a squad short of championship levels players

Players still have the same problem in that they lose all confidence whenever we go 1-0 down.

We played alright up until their first goal but never looked like equalising after.

Still think Lamouchi is doing a good job and I normally praise his substitutes, but think he made the wrong decisions with substitutions today.

Good news is the bottom three all lost so no real harm done.

I hope Allsop's ban was only one game or that's a real concern. Luthra isn't even League Two standard.

We are a poor team as the table shows, many changes required whether we stay up or not.
More urgency required for mid week match.

Going behind in a game when you know you have difficulties scoring could account for the dip in performance. But I don't think we have been dreadful in most of the matches I've seen (I haven't seen this one though). Agree that we are not up to it - especially against the better teams. Yet I've seen us play some good stuff and score the odd great goal. So the glass is definitely half full for me and Lamouchi impresses me with his honesty, intelligence, knowledge, man management and his temperament. Now he has to impress me by winning more games.

Ned, it was initially reported as a one-game ban but nothing since...

There are different levels of 'offence' under the red card scheme and it was thought to be a 'professional foul'

Would be interesting to find out the situation after today's mirror image, which could result in a similar ban (whatever that may be)

The (football) Law says:

"If a player is sent off for a professional foul (eg holding an opponent back when they're through on goal) or a second bookable offence they will be handed a one-match ban.

"Straight red cards for dissent will result in a two-match ban, while dangerous tackles or violent conduct will result in a three-match ban which can be raised to four or more games in extreme cases.

"Incidents of racism will almost certainly result in a ban longer than three games while a red card for spitting triggers an automatic six-match ban.

"Players who have been sent off will also be banned for a further match if they refuse to leave the pitch within a reasonable time period after receiving a red card.
"

Hope Alsopp is back. I didn't think Alnwick did too much to impress. Kipre won't be available that's certain. Hate to be negative but fully expect another defeat mid-week. The Rotherham game is huge and will have a massive say in whether we stay up.

I thought Preston were poor and there for the taking, especially 2nd half for first 20 odd but Lax defending cost us the first, kipre caught out completely.
That said we weren't good enough but don't think Preston were much better

Hopefully the initial reports were right Chris.

I thought it was one game but saw a few people suggest it was three games.

I wouldn't call Allsop's handball violent conduct so should be one game surely.

Just got back. Didn’t play bad at all, but until we get two footballers up front we will continue struggle to finish sides off. The two who played for us to today wouldn’t get in my local park side.
