Cunningham on his time at Cardiff:
"It was an opportunity I couldn't turn down. It was an opportunity to go and play Premier League football and I'd worked very hard to get myself into that position.
"I went there and, listen, it didn't turn out the way I had planned in my head, but that's football.
"That's life sometimes and I just had to knuckle down and keep plugging away. It didn't happen for me there for different reasons and it's all a learning curve.
"I've moved around a bit since and now I've found myself here - back at Preston - and couldn't be happier.
"I've been enjoying my football as much as I have done throughout my whole career and it's probably down to this club, the people here as well, the fans and I'm happy."
