Ojo silences doubters
By John Jones
One of two changes to Lamouchi's starting line-up for the derby day clash, Sheyi Ojo turned up when it really mattered as he impressed against Bristol.
The 25-year-old has largely blown hot and cold since rejoining the club last summer but delivered perhaps his finest performance in a Cardiff shirt as he proved a constant danger to Bristol's defenders. Asking plenty of questions with his pacey, purposeful runs, he was integral in helping move his side up the field and turn defence into attack.
He was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself midway through the first half as he let fly with a fizzing shot from outside the box that stung the hands of Bristol keeper Max O'Leary and nearly created an opportunity for Sory Kaba to open the scoring.
Ojo may have been on the receiving end of some at times deserved criticism of late but his derby showing proves that when it clicks for him, there is some player in there.

To be fair whenever he plays that number 10/more roaming role he really does well. It’s great ti see him coming to form though. We know what he’s capable of from his loan. Good to see the form coming back. He looks a bit stronger on the ball now too

It can’t be a coincidence that Ojo, Sawyers and Philogene are looking better every game. It’s what good coaches can do with players. Etete also improving and I hope Kaba also keeps on the right path and causes problems for defences. Let’s make sure we have a team that shows up on April 1st for once.

Agree with you both, 100 percent

I was a doubter! Sabri-Ojo is the best version we've seen to date, in my opinion. He still needs to add a few more goals/assists/big chances to his game but he's definitely improved recently!

The critism was justified and I thought he was done after being booed off the pitch a few times, fair play to him for getting his head down and contributing to the upturn in performances.

He definitely is a 10, still not convinced he is that great.
Ojo, Philogene and especially Sawyers are all front-foot players, far better running onto the ball all courtesy of Connor Wickham !!!
Without Wickhams ability to actually win the ball and then hold it up to offload it, the three of them would have to do stuff they are not great at, and thats winning the second ball or going to win the ball back.
I would be interested to see what Colwell or Davies could do with that ball in the same position.
Not taking away from the lad, in that formation its his jersey

He had a good game.
The issue is his consistency, he needs to follow up that good performance with more.

You need consistency before you state he has silenced doubters. Crap next week we are back to where we started.
