Ebou Adams out for the season

Sabri Lamouchi has ruled Ebou Adams out for the remainder of the season. The Gambia international midfielder ripped his pectoral muscle off the bone in a pre-season match before having an operation on his knee before Christmas. It was initially thought that he would be back training with the squad last month, but now it looks like he will spend his entire first season in the treatment room.

"I don't think so, he is probably out for the rest of the season," Lamouchi said when asked if Adams would play for Cardiff this season. "There are just 12 games left to play, so I don't think [he will play]."

It is a crushing blow for the player and supporters who want to see him in a Bluebirds shirt, no doubt, with the club believing him to be a key signing early in the summer. However, next season, at least, he will feel like a new addition.

Never mind. Freak accident, good for next season with a proper pre-season. He'll never catch up now fitness wise anyway.

Well then Sven et al. Despite your disparaging remarks I was right. A whole season out. Nasty injury first one admittedly nand then a clean up of the knee which was routine we were told. A whole years wages. There you go. I do feel sorry for the player and I was looking forward to see him play. BUT. Still a whole season out despite the club in October saying it wouldn’t be long before he was back.

Retrospect is a wonderful thing, Brezza; although I have no recollection of the conversation you appear so desperate to resurrect. Direct me to the post/conversation and I feel sure you will have jumped the gun and now feel vindicated enough to seek comfort in the fact Adams is out for the season rather than part thereof, as frequently stated by the club... ;)

Welcome back after your recent absence, too...! :ayatollah:

Poor lad, he must have hoped moving here was his big break. Wish him well in recovery but if we are still a Championship side next year, I don't expect him to feature and he'll move on. Was always a cheap punt as squad player in my view. Most of his games have been in league two.

I seek no joy in seeing any City player injured. I do however expect the club to be honest in reporting to the fans the extent of injuries. The player as stated by a few managers was not far away. So was he or wasn’t he? We have had a lot of injuries and I for one am fed up with them all. I do however wish him well and look forward to seeing him play.

Feel sorry for the player, never easy to have injuries for this amount of time.

It was a big move for him and he would have wanted to prove what he can add to the Championship.

Hope he comes back next season and shows what he can do. Very highly rated.

Same goes for Collins.

That's better; a bit of contrition by admitting the information from the club 'at that time' was that he would be fit at some point this season...

I actually found our exchange of opinion and all I did was point to the above after you made what was at that point an unfounded statement based on your own opinion. I have no issue with that (your own opinion) but don't dress it up as fact when it isn't...

Now, whether the club was 'open and honest' as you would like them to be is a debate in itself but I feel sure they give the best information available but will also protect their players to some extent; particularly after the way some players are villified by some on here
