NOT GOOD NEWS:

Sabri Lamouchi has ruled Ebou Adams out for the remainder of the season.

BUT:

SABRI LAMOUCHI:

"Of course we have the players and the squad for scoring goals that. We have quality. We have to do more. Each player has to do more to try to change that."

We "Absolutely, have the firepower, the quality to score goals."

SABRI LAMOUCHI:

"We need, absolutely, to focus on game by game. It's Bristol for Saturday, after Saturday it will be Preston, West Brom, then Rotherham. And maybe during the international break, think about the next step for the club.

"But let me keep my mind and concentration just on this season and on these important games that are coming."

"I'm [at the training ground] probably 12 hours minimum. Of course, they don't stay 12 hours in training. It's just about communication, my door is always open.“

‘When you’re the worst attack in the league, you need to work on the system, to try and create more opportunities to score. I receive them individually in my office. I talk to each of them to try to understand the situation from the players and share moments with them.’

"But, to be honest, I just want to focus on my squad right now and this season, because we have points to get. We are not so far away, but we are not safe yet.“

"Honestly, it's too early to talk about next season. I am happy here, that's for sure," he said of his own contract.”

SABRI LAMOUCHI:

What of his own situation?

As things stand, the Frenchman is only contract to the club for four more months. However, in his first press conference, he said if the club survived the drop, he would "absolutely" be in the Welsh capital next season.

"Honestly, it's too early to talk about next season. I am happy here, that's for sure," he said of his own contract.

SABRI LAMOUCHI:

"We tried to do a very simple exercise, to give confidence to our offensive players, not only the strikers," he said.

"We can score from different parts of the pitch. Not only (Sory) Kaba, Connor (Wickham) or Kion (Etete), unfortunately we have lost Callum Robinson, so we have reduced our chance to score with our best scorer out.“

SABRI LAMOUCHI:

Losing Callum Robinson:

"It's one more problem. But with this kind of problem it's my job to find the solution. When I arrived, I identified immediately, when you are the worst attack in the league, you need to work on the system, to try and create more opportunities and chances to score.

"It's better and better, but we don't score. We don't have the killer mentality. And when we give others the chance to score, they score, because Norwich have good players and they make the difference.

"We need to believe we will do it. And we try with a simple exercise in the training ground. But without intensity or opponents, it's different to a game. In a game you have just one second to do the right choice and make a good decision. It's just confidence.

"I receive them individually in my office, I talk to each one of them to try to understand the situation from the players and share some moments with them.

"I'm [at the training ground] probably 12 hours minimum. Of course, they don't stay 12 hours in training. It's just about communication, my door is always open.

"Fortunately, we won against Birmingham and Reading. But after them, there were many good things, many positive things. We try to keep the positive things. When we are not in confidence, we don't need to put more negative clips. They know, more than us. It's my responsibility to fix it and show them the road, do the job in a good atmosphere and increase mentally, technically, tactically, physically. We have to show more."

Ebou Adams out for the season

Sabri Lamouchi has ruled Ebou Adams out for the remainder of the season. The Gambia international midfielder ripped his pectoral muscle off the bone in a pre-season match before having an operation on his knee before Christmas. It was initially thought that he would be back training with the squad last month, but now it looks like he will spend his entire first season in the treatment room.

"I don't think so, he is probably out for the rest of the season," Lamouchi said when asked if Adams would play for Cardiff this season. "There are just 12 games left to play, so I don't think [he will play]."

It is a crushing blow for the player and supporters who want to see him in a Bluebirds shirt, no doubt, with the club believing him to be a key signing early in the summer. However, next season, at least, he will feel like a new addition.

Sabri Lamouchi:

"We're very focused for the derby." Sabri began. "For our fans, for the club, for the people here, it's really important, so we've been really focused in the training sessions on coming back with the right mentality.

"I'm happy because we won against Birmingham and Reading - they were two games to win. So now we move on, to look forward and think about Bristol.

"I watched the game against Manchester City, and I was impressed by the performance from Bristol. They played well, they have a good squad, a young squad and a good manager with a lot of experience.

"They were well organised, with good quality and good individual players. It was a different competition, a different team and a different context. The players know that, as well."

As we approach the latter stages of the season, Sabri was keen to keep the emphasis on the performance of his players, rather than focusing on other results.

He said: "I'm just looking and thinking about us. Where we are depends on us. We need to focus on our job, our result and our performance.

"It's like twelve finals - and a final is not just to play, it's to win. The next one is the derby, and it will be difficult, as you can imagine.

"It will be tough until the end, so it depends just on us, and the desire to play together, to fight together, to get the result as soon as possible, and to try to move on and get out of our situation.

"After Birmingham and Reading, I saw many positive things. It's my responsibility to try and show them the road and do the job in a good atmosphere."
