THE CASE FOR THE DEFENCE

This season has been a nightmare for the club and especially us fans. The lack of goals in the team was a clear fault line from the start and remains the biggest problem as we stand today. The Summer recruitment was massive by any bodies standards, which was a total reset on the first team, however the defence seams to have been reasonably managed, unfortunately the very impressive Collins was lost to injury at the very early stage, incidentally I don't think we ever really got the left back position covered.
The statistics show that we have the 12 best defence in the league with the number of goals conceded, its possible to say that a more potent attack side the team would have yielded an even better number on the goals against column. Strikers may win leagues but defences can keep you in leagues!!!
