Lamouchi plans talks over contracts

Sabri Lamouchi plans to discuss the futures of Cardiff's five out-of-contract players during the international break.

Mark Harris aged 24, Joel Bagan, Tom Sang, Gavin Whyte and Connor Wickham all see their contracts expire in just four months' time and there are decisions yet to be made on all of them.

Harris has played a lot of games in this season and the previous two, but failing to score many goals 9 goals in 90 appearances for the Bluebirds , while Wickham only joined in January and has a bad history of being injury prone and never playing more than 20 games in a season.

Tom Sang has been in and out of the first-team squad and never managing to hold his place with numerous managers , while Whyte and Bagan have barely been seen at all.

Of course, Lamouchi planning his squad for next season will largely come down to which division the Bluebirds find themselves in. By the international break next month, during which time another five games will have been played, it is likely City will have a better clue as to where they will be playing next term.

Id release the lot and free up some wage budget.

Jury is still out on wickham. Would leave his contract talk until latter end of the season when our league status is better known

Emotion aside, I'd cut the lot if we have any ambition of moving forward.

have to disagree with the previous two comments, we've not seen enough of Wickham yet to decide his future, from what little we have seen, he looks a right handful and looks impactful, he might earn a new deal, as for Bagan, sparky, whyte and sang, i'd leave them go.

None are good enough in my opinion but there cheap so the club will probably go with keeping a few of them no doubt.

I find this a little strange.

Lamouchi only has a contract to the end of the season himself so why is he involved in decisions about who may or may not be at the club next season?

If we get relegated the chances are he'll leave and we'll probably be looking at lower league managers who may feel that some of the out of contract players could do a job at League 1 level perhaps on lower wages.
