Incredibly sad news. Thoughts to his family and friends.

He commentated on ten World Cups, ten Euros and 29 FA Cup finals for the BBC.

Brilliant commentator who had such a passion for football and his contribution to football through his reporting and commentating.

Will be sorely missed.

I’m sure you’ll meet up with another legend Dickie Davies in the football twilight, condolences to his family and friends also.

A big part of my growing up and watching footie on the TV both will be sadly missed.

I’m probably the only one who wasn’t keen on his commentary,he always seemed more on statistics rather than what was happening.
