Always a good crowd no matter which side of the Severn this biggest and original 'derby' fixture is played...

Fair do's to the Wurzels though; it's always a better atmosphere with a good away support and it's even better sending more of them home after a wasted journey...

The Gas was the real derby IMHO used to love Eastville.

A fair point, made well, Jules... :ayatollah:

My grandad, originally from Bristol and a former 'Gas' player, used to say that rivalry was huge and that the Swans weren't really on our radar...

Talking of atmosphere, it’s better at Accy v Bolton tonight than Spurs/ West Ham on the weekend.. need the terraces back ASAP.

Terraces will help but i think it's more than that.

Not for us older ones. It was always Bristol City. Never really played Rovers until the 80's.

They are in quite good form too, it could be a lively game.

You are right. My memory must be fading because i can't remember playing them much in the 70's, though I do remember one game when Tony Evans scored 4 - i think it may have been a League Cup game. To me they always seemed to be on HTV West on a Sunday with Roger Malone playing the likes of Swansea - a very small club at that time  and Exeter in the old Third Division.

100,000 Scrumpy drinkers coming over the bridge, or 2, who gives a foook, should have better things to do with their spare time than watching over paid twats chasing a ball!!

Used to be back and forth my aunties in Bristol so watched them quite a bit when timing Cardiff being away, even remember George Best playing there for Fulham I think.

Oh I miss Eastville as much as Ninian Park.

Sadly between 1971 and 2003 we couldn't lay a glove on Bristol city something like one win in 20 games much better since then .

It was worth the wait in a way. We beat them in the play offs and it got even better a few years later with that 6-0 drubbing of them at Ashton Gate.

Hopefully be at this game, should be a great atmosphere.

Would be an 8am start for me due to the early KO but worth it to watch the mighty Bluebirds :bluebird:
