UPDATED: Midweek Championship games

Mon Feb 20, 2023 6:00 pm

There are six midweek Championship games this week.

The first is West Brom going to Watford on Monday night - live in Sky Sports. The Baggies will overtake the Hornets if they win, while if the hosts win then they will jump to 4th and in the play-off positions. That game is live on Sky Sports.

Then there are five games on Tuesday. Three of them relate to us with Stoke, Rotherham and Blackpool all playing. These are games in hand over us.

If there are wins for Rotherham and Blackpool, we will just be one point outside the bottom three.

Midweek Championship fixtures & results

Blackburn Rovers v Blackpool (7.45pm, Tuesday)

Millwall v Burnley (7.45, Tuesday)

Norwich Ciy v Birmingham City (7.45, Tuesday)

Rotherham United v Sunderland (7.45pm, Tuesday)

Swansea City v Stoke City (7.45pm, Tuesday)

Watford v West Bromwich Albion (8pm, Monday)

A mixed evening so far, as our nearest rivals are have one win and two losses between them...

Sunderland looking to recover after pulling a goal back from 2 - 0 down

Birmingham behind to promotion hopefuls Blackburn, while Mick McCarthy's Blackpool are behind by a goal to Norwich

Meanwhile, in the National League, Wrexham are a goal up at home to Scunthorpe with yet another goal (penalty) from the impressive Mullin...

Rotherham overtake us with their win but the teams below fail to take advantage

The table is starting to balance out now, with Wigan and Huddersfield (of those below us) with a single game in hand but currently unable to catch us even if they win it... :ayatollah:

Shows how important those back to back wins were, we would have been in deep trouble without them. :bluescarf:

If we match the bottom 3s results over the next 13 games, we stay up. It's in our hands. The bonus being the teams just above us have to do the same too. They will be looking at us in the same way. We must be the ones not to lose our nerve.
