Pathway to Safety

Sun Feb 19, 2023 10:16 am

The season has certainly taken an upturn this week, there are 13 games left 8 home and 7 away. The target is 48 points to achieve safety so ironically that is a point a match and we have some big challenges over this last quarter. So please see my predictions below on the pathway through the rest of the season
Norwich A Draw
Bristol H Win
Preston A Draw
WBA H Lose
Rotherham A Draw
Jacks H Draw
Blackpool A Draw
Sunderland H Lose
Shef Utd A Lose
Watford A Lose
Stoke H Win
Huddersfield H Win
Burnley H Lose

That is 14 points which would take us to 49 points and safety :bluebird: :bluebird:

Thoughts ??

Definitely need to be safe before Burnley away.

Agree, although they probably would have won the league by then so would hope they'd have taken their foot off the gas by then.

Would be ideal if we were safe before we play Stoke and Huddersfield, wouldn't want to go into those games needing something.

The points total to stay up this season will be much higher than previous years, i think we need to get 15 more points minimum. 50 points is normally good enough. For me the big key to staying up is we have to win our derby games. Our recent record is beyond shocking and this has to change. I am delighted by this weeks change in fortunes but we have a long, long way to go yet.

Burnley are 11 points clear at the mo, hopefully they will be champions with some games to spare and will field a team of youngsters against us

I think we need six wins. Four wins and three draws may be enough.

I got us to 49 pts too.... will it be enough? Interestingly, Swansea could have a say in our fate as they have a very favourable run in, playing almost all the teams in the bottom six...

Jacks not happy with their manager and performances. Many of them want Potter back if Chelsea sack him.

Not sure we can rely on them too much.

Every point in this run is important - Friday nights result showed we went to the end trying to find that goal .
Before we would have dropped points going into the last 10 mins + .

The 'Jacks' in dreamworld again, Ned...?

Potter will stay at Chelsea for this season at least and they feel he can kick on. However, even if he is released at some point, the queue for his signature will include a few clubs that have better incentives than a 'free' caravan and a Dai Cap... ;)

just proves our owner and directors are total idiots as far as football knowledge is concerned
morison was sacked after getting 11 points from our first 10.games
after signing 17 players and a change of style
11 points from 10 games is on schedule for 51 points over a 46 game season
thats with out any improvement in form
3 managers later we are scrambling looking for 48 points ???
