Centre-back Cedric Kipre has opened up on his partnership with Mark McGuinness and the influence of first-team coach Sol Bamba.
Kipre has been one of the most consistent performers this season and has now been joined by the formidable McGuinness, fresh from his loan stint with Sheffield Wednesday, at the back, forming quite the imposing pairing.
Speaking about McGuinness, Kipre said: “Mark is good to play with. We haven’t played a lot together, but I think that we match well. He speaks to me all the time and for 90 minutes, I speak to him as well. I trust him and he trusts me, so it’s a good partnership.
“Sol is a very good guy for us to have him here. He gives us loads of advice. Of course, he was a centre-back and had a good career. We are from the same country as well, so he helps me a lot. I’m very happy to be working with him.”
Meanwhile, in the City programme last night, McGuinness said: "We've got some very good centre halves here, but I've been playing alongside Ced for the last couple of games and he's been great.
"He's solid and he's someone I enjoy working next to. We have a great relationship and we complement each other quite well.
"We've got a good balance between everyone, especially along that back line."
