Substitutions

Only a minor criticism but I think the manager got this wrong tonight and it could have cost us.

Used only three substitutes (one for one subs on three occasions) meaning that by the 70th minute we were in a position where we could not use any more substitutes.

This meant that Philogene and especially Robinson were virtually passengers for the last 10 or 15 minutes - at the end we were effectively playing with nine fit men.

I hope the fact that both of them had to stay on the pitch when they should have been off hasn't made their injuries worse. Robinson looked like a hamstring and he literally couldn't move after he injured himself.

Philogene actually made one brilliant run into the box whilst injured so well done to him and fair play to them both for staying on and showing great commitment.

Hope the management team have learned a hard lesson on game management though!

Good Point - thought the same at the time when Robbo was asked to stay on and keep us at 11 on the pitch .

Very good point and something I didn't realise until I saw this post. We'd made three changes and had two left so was surprised when Robinson and later Philogene didn't come off. Totally forgot that you could only make changes in three intervals of the game plus half time.

But other than that, Lamouchi got his tactics spot on tonight. Would hope and expect that he'll learn from this mistake.

Can only hope the injuries aren't serious, especially with Robinson as he had a good game tonight and proved he's a key player.

I couldn’t understand why we couldn’t replace Robinson, but then remembered the rules allow up to 5 subs but only 3 opportunities during live play to put them on (can put 1 on at half time too) and we had already subbed 3 players individually.
But as mentioned, full respect to Robinson for staying on for the team when he could have thought of himself and come off. Same to a lesser extent with Billie Jean. I love the attitude these 2 have and that showed last night.
Hope they haven’t done themselves further injury.

Was saying to my mate the same as soon as philogene went down. Luckily it didn't cost us. Hopefully he will learn from it and in fairness the guys tactics seem spot on so can forgive the error

I think we''ll see some rotation for the next game.
