Wickham and Robinson

They need to be the two up top on Friday.

I thought Kaba and Etete did well. Won't be surprised if they both start again.

Not sure that Wickham is ready to start games yet, but I agree they both worked well together when they came on.

Isn't it good we can now debate which two to start up top? What a great problem to have. SL will no doubt be running the rule over all four for the best combo which will be a dynamic. Etete has grown since the Villa friendly, Kaba expressing himself tonight even with two scissor kicks jolts the oppo and boosts our confidence, Robbo will grow off this too and Wickham I can see as being an asset that brings much needed experience for the task ahead. It won't be pretty but I must admit I kinda like it. Bollox to your pretty football, let's ave it.

Think we should go same again, start with Etete and Kaba and swap them for Robbo and Wickham around the 60-65th minute.

They’re all going to bounce off each other now

I agree Wez, we looked much more dangerous in the second half. Robinson has decent movement compared to what options we have and atleast tries to take the ball on the half turn with his head up. I'm just not sure Wickham is match fit yet.

Nice to finally have some options to discuss.

However I think its too soon for Wickham to start and he best served as an impact sub

Only time before Kaba scores an overhead kick.

And no one is mentioning Davies and Colwill. Shows the folly of the club to place too much emphasis on untested and certainly over rated youth. Wickham and Robinson are tried and tested at this level. Wickham probably wont start too many but hopefully adds that proper number 9 physicality we need at the end of games.

It's a tricky one.
I'd probably go with Etete or Kabba with Robinson. Keep Wickham on bench for now. Good to have options though. :bluescarf:

No change for me. Same starting 11, same impact subs (if required).

I thought Etete played his most effective game for us last night and is a player in the making. Providing they all stay fit we now have options. Roll on Friday.

I like them, power and pace, they never stop running and they are only going to get better as they get used to each other. Start with them, let them run themselves into the ground, and bring on Robinson and Wickham just after halftime give them 35 to 40 minutes against tired legs :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Stick with Etete and Kaba starting. They looked good in the last 30 mins v Luton and against Birminham. It was a big mistake starting with Robinson against Middlesborough (he was awful in that game). Keep Robinson on the bench. I would like to see Davies involved as well(pace).
Wickham looked promisong - interesting to see him play more in the weeks to come. :bluebird:

I thought all four of them did well. Etete especially I was pleased to see grow into the game after a slow start.

It bodes well certainly. Nice to have even a little positivity for once !

Personally I think you have to start with Robinson who is our top scorer and top of assists. Maybe instead of Sawyers in-front of Wintle and Rinomhota.

100% this. I thought Sawyers was the only poor performer last night in an excellent team performance.

He doesn't have the legs anymore and even when on the ball all he seems to do is pass to the opposition or go back to the keeper, definitely a weak link and I don't understand why he has played 90 minutes in every game under SL so far he looks knackered after 20 minutes.

Wickham will be handy off the bench, Robinson behind Kaba and Etete who looks much improved in recent weeks.
