A mixed first impression of Kaba on his first start. I don’t

Sun Feb 12, 2023 7:02 am

A mixed first impression of Kaba on his first start. I don’t think he won a header all day and wasn’t particularly quick or strong, but HE SCORED, so I’ll overlook any evils for that. I actually thought Etete was more effective when he came on. Early days though and he will adapt

He won a few headers and created chances for others to run on too....

You couldn't of been at the game as if you were you would of seen he won alot of headers and his link up play was good .BTW you did see his goal too ? .

It was a tough introduction, the championship is a hard league, and if he wasn't sure what it's about he does now.

I agree he is not particularly quick nor did he win the majority of headers but he got better and better as the game went on and was happy to be the target and was brutally strong holding up the ball to feet and showed for the ball.

IMO Etete still isn't strong enough for that position yet.

Scoring on your home debut bodes well

In fairness he got a goal albeit a tap in however aside from that I thought he was gash in the first half . Get rid of the bright orange boots lad, you ain’t that good .

Second half improved and won a few headers but he ain’t keeping us in the division. We have a good handful of powderpuff players who will go onto average careers at Wigan , Colchester and Newport.

We lack quality and if it wasn’t for a very weak league and three other very bad teams we’d be adrift. It’s mad we’re not in the bottom 3 after not winning for 3 months . You have to give a nod to Morrison for getting the vast majority of points we already have on the board with this team . A least the club is investing in the right things like Proud Bluebirds Flags . We are fucked and deserve to be relegated and unless we get new owners will not bounce back up.

We’ve had a good run in the top 2 leagues , 20 years but the club has missed a huge opportunity not to build something special over the last 10 in south wales . Our gates are no better today than the final years at ninian. If you look at the vast majority of clubs across the country most have maintained their attendance bump from moving to their new grounds.

Look at the stats!!

He won 7 headers and improved his hold up play as the game went on.

He will need to adapt but I’ll put money in him being a better signing than Collins or Watters. Having said that I think Etete was even more impressive so maybe it’s worth looking at that as a pairing.

Tim, I agree! :ayatollah:

Also worth noting that (not from) barnet blue and the equally anti-club Ninian27 have once again appeared in tandem, albeit on differing threads... ;)

I agree with both big guys and Robinson as 10.
Would be like Gary Stevens Ronnie Moore and Ray Bishop. :old:
Ps. I had a night with our mutual friend last night.

I don't think we're quite at tge 'nothing to lose'stage yet; but that combination may well be worth a try even for a part of a game to see if it could work. I don't see any reason why not...

That's great re our mutual friend. Always an enjoyable evening, so I know it will have gone well

I thought for the first 30 minutes or so of the first half, Kaba looked lost with the speed and physicality of the game (possibly didn't realise the intensity of the championship), but definitely improved after the confidence of getting his goal. Understandably he tired as he hasn't played for months. He won a fair share of his challenges, in the air and on the ground, and I think he'll do fine here. The problem I see is he is only here for another 15 games and hope he will not lose heart as it gets towards the end of the season, if our results don't improve. On the topic of Etete, I think that was his most energetic and useful of his appearances to date. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that we now have a decent No.9 and he realises he will get even less appearances than he has to date, unless he ups his game. Providing we can give either of them a decent service, they will do ok. I just hope that either of them "doing ok" will be enough. :bluescarf:

You’d think even those idiots would at least check the stats before commenting on a game they clearly didn’t attend !!!!!

I thought kaba was really good for his first start , he brought energy and he won loads of headers ,
Was surprised how much runnning he was doing considering he hasn’t played since November .
He gona be a very useful signing to keep
us up

He's very vocal for a striker, constantly encouraging his team mates.
I'm happy with what I've seen so far

Tim, they/he, whatever; either way they/he are deliberate in their actions and I'd use the term sychophantic to describe ;)
