MY VIEW: YES CARDIFF SCORE AT LAST / BUT BOROS PRESSURE & QUALITY CAME THROUGH FOR YET ANOTHER CARDIFF DEFEAT.

Play-off chasing Boro deservedly beat the Bluebirds at the Cardiff City Stadium, despite Cardiff scoring and attacking Boro for the final 10mins.

Todays defeat sent closer to the bottom 3 of the Championship, and the new managers 3rd defeat in a row & 1 win from their last 14 games

This was going to be tough, but City cant beat clubs near them or clubs chasing promotion

Cardiff before today had only scored 1 goal in their last 7 Championship games & had won 1 game from their last 13 games over 3 months ago.

This was manager Sabri Lamouchi 3rd game in charge of the Bluebirds.

FIRST-HALF: soon after. Not doing good enough, being dominated on possession and letting them have far too many attacks.

It was all Boro, well deserved, GOAL! Cardiff City 0-1 Middlesbrough (Forss 17)
Goal. Great finish from Forss.

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-1 Middlesbrough (Kaba 25)
GOAL! KABA! :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Well deserved: GOAL! Cardiff City 1-2 Middlesbrough (Archer 38)
Archer scores.

Boro deserved their 2-1 lead

SECOND-HALF: 57th min: Ojo off, Wintle on.
Ralls off, Rinomhota on.

70th min: Ng and Etete on.

Romeo and Kaba off.

90th min:
GOAL! Cardiff City 1-3 Middlesbrough (McGree 90)
Goal. That's that.

CARDIFF CITY 1 MIDDLESBROUGH 3
H-T 1-2
Crowd 19,182
Away Support 1,820

Cardiff City : Allsop; Romeo, McGuinness, Kipre, O'Dowda; Ralls, Sawyers; Philogene, Robinson, Kaba.

Subs: Alnwick, Simpson, Ng, Wintle, Rinomhota, Etete. Davies.

GOAL! Cardiff City 0-1 Middlesbrough (Forss 17)
Goal. Great finish from Forss.

McGree with a ball into the box, a lovely touch from Archer to set it up and Forss with a stunning finish, smashing it into the rough of the net from 10 yards out. Came from Kaba losing the ball again on halfway.

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-1 Middlesbrough (Kaba 25)
GOAL! KABA!

Great work from Robinson to intercept Steffen's awful pass and he squares it to Kaba, who taps it in from two yards out. Don't come much easier!

"We've scored a goal, We've scored a goooooal, We've scored a gooooal!" sings the Canton :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Well deserved: GOAL! Cardiff City 1-2 Middlesbrough (Archer 38)
Archer scores.
GOAL! Cardiff City 1-2 Middlesbrough (Archer 38)
Archer scores. 2-1 to Boro. O'Dowda misplaces a pass, picked up Hackney, who slots in a terrific pass behind City's defence. Archer rounds Allsop and smashes home. Devastating breakaway.

H-T 1-2

57th min: Ojo off, Wintle on.

Ralls off, Rinomhota on.

70th min: Ng and Etete on.

Romeo and Kaba off.

It was all Cardiff last 10 mins with Isaak Davies coming on.

90th min:
GOAL! Cardiff City 1-3 Middlesbrough (McGree 90)
Goal. That's that.

The few will defend this team and say it was an improved performance. They will use the excuse Boro are the team on fire. I will say that is the best we are going to get out of this bunch and I'm beginning to feel we will not win another game this season.

I hoping some more will see what one or two of us saw at the start of the season but this is not a squad that should be mid table. That was built up by the club and now they are going to have egg on their faces. As I said in a few other posts but the fat lady is preparing to sing.

Lost faith that we’ll stay up today.

Don’t think the squad is good enough and sadly don’t think the manager is either.

All the fault of a disinterested board.

Well we scored a goal which is something.

But we were totally outclassed and Boro were in control for most of the game. You could see the third goal coming at the end. They're a good team.

These two games this week against Birmingham and Reading are even more crucial now. If we don't pick up points in those games then the situation will look even more bleak.

We're lucky about the other results that we haven't yet dropped into the bottom three. But that's coming soon and that will put even more pressure on the team.

The team are utterly finished. It made chuckle reading some posters feeling positive or believing the team could win today. It's the hope that kills as you as a football fan! All that remains of this season is to protest against the ownership and prepare for league one. I also genuinely doubt this team can win another game this season too.

What stadiums are worth visiting in league one? I think I may start planning ahead with our run of results....

First half Boro showed there class although City stepped up pressure and managed to get a goal back from that.

Second half i thought we were bnetter after subs but when Boro made it 1-3 it showed how bad our quality is. Twice a simple ball across the box one hit the post one hit the back of the net, made me realise its going to be a miracle to stay up.

We huffed and puffed for 35 mins in the second half for nothing then boro can just do 2 passes

But the manager picks the players, we are in a scrap, not a football context, our position shows we are shit at football, but at least we can roll up our sleeves and scrap

Sawyers's legs have gone, he is a luxury item on a front-foot team probably in L1 or L2

Ojo and Philogen obviously have skill but are not championship-standard players, absolutely no end game, and in the end, its about goal and assists for them not "tried hard".

Rinomhota, Ralls and Wintle are up for it, any two from three. They are all roughly the same level

Harris is better than Philogen or Ojo, so is Davies, but O'Dowda is better than all of them and he is fcuking full back....so it is the manager !!!!!!!!!!!

Play three at the back with wing backs then !!!!!

First half we spent majority of it ball watching, not pressing and Ralls just seems to be going through the motions now, no urgency and too many mistakes.

Second half, started same as 1st ended but subs made a difference, once Ralls was off there was more pressing and urgency.

O’Dowda is wasted at Left Back, he’s one of our best attacking players and we have him in defence…

Harris is not better than any of our forwards. Neither is Davies. Not by a country mile.

Agree about O’Dowda needs to be played higher up the pitch.

First half poor much better second half. Since the new manager has come in our work rate both on and off the ball has gone up in levels.

We lack quality but if we can get our final third balls right I think Kaba looks half decent and will score the goals that can keep us up.

It’s been the same all season our final third play is lacking that quality land delivery.

I would play 3 5 2 - I think we have the players to do that and would put other teams on the back foot with two up top and the wide players working up and down the flanks.

Need a point at least Tuesday :ayatollah:

Boro strong players with a mixture of good footballers In some ways reminded of Warnock.
To many errors. O'Dowda cost us with a stupid piece of football He's as sure as hell not a full back

There are 16 games left and we are nowhere near relegated yet. We aren’t a good team, but there are other teams just as bad. The overall performance was better and you can see Lamouchi’s influence on the players - they were all putting in a huge amount of effort if sometimes lacking in skill.

Relegation will not be the end of this club - more than half of the current Premier League teams have been in League 1 at some point during the last 20 years.

I find it hard to believe that so many people on here are so negative. If the fans can’t show faith and get behind the team, then who can? And it’s no point in moaning about the owner either - how is that going to help the team? I thought the fans there today managed to keep the faith right until the 3rd goal went in. Unlike this board where misery and moaning rules.

Positives from today.

Kaba got his first goal and looked a handful.
Nice to have Romeo back.
Lamouchi hopefully has learnt ralls and sawyers can't play together

Wez, Its was rope a dope, we can't score, they set up in a low block and withstood everything we threw at them without their keeper making a save
