A glimpse of optimism for Bluebirds fans was seeing new signing Sory Kaba come off the bench on Humberside on Saturday.
Sabri Lamouchi confirmed on Thursday that the striker would travel with his new team-mates to Hull but the expectation was, because he hadn't even arrived in Wales until later that day, that he wouldn't be involved against the Tigers.
But the 27-year-old was named among the substitutes and was introduced in the 55th minute. Lamouchi believes he offers something different and that more is to come from the big hitman.
"It's good to have a different opportunity," he said. "Tall strong, and it was the first 35, 40 minutes with a new team, new club, new partner. He created one chance and he will be better next week."
