WBA looked in real trouble a couple of months ago, but decent decisions from the top and a new manager / just added a decent player in January.

In
Nathaniel Chalobah (undisclosed, Fulham)

Out
Zac Ashworth (loan, Burton Albion)
Martin Kelly (loan, Wigan Athletic)
Kenneth Zohore (released)

Now look at Albion in the play -offs, that could of been us:

They took out a big loan from a US investment company to be able to bring in new players and the new manager.

They have to get promoted or they're in huge financial trouble so a lot of pressure on them.

Ned,

This league is wide open from the bottom to including all the play- off teams. If we had invested in a proper striker and a Captain/ leader, we would of been right up there , plus of course a manager not a muppet.
The league is very weak, clubs all beat each other week after week.

Then of course you had the top two who invested and put quality managers in.

Albion were doing awful under Bruce and their board sorted it.

Just read Ned,

Albion took a £20million loan out at high interest.
I wonder how high?

Tan took out a loan on behalf of our club of £20odd £mill from Dalman at 8% or 9% and I have been told it’s even more now.
Waiting to see the latest accounts.

The truth is that the real position we should be in is like Brighton or Brentford if VT had run things properly. And especially as we are a capital city club with a potential catchment area of 1.5m in South East Wales (figure from WG Future Wales 2040 doc). But we are where we are and we will all be behind the team and manager as always.

Well said, we can't change what's happened so let's just hope for a better future. Starting today

Annis, its even worse than that, they were forced to take out that loan because their owner/chairman (can't remember which one) actually took a loan out from WBA to use in his personal company, and then missed deadlines to repay it, so they were forced to take a loan out elsewhere. the club then had to come out and promise the loan against WBA was going to go into the club only and not so the owner/chairman can take more money

I wish it was like this for us, God knows I wish new management stepped in, had a dialogue with the fans and set out some 5 year plan or overall vision. Also the capacity to make actual smart decision with ambition for real talent to come to this club....

But no, the professionalism and how we handle transfers when there is no manager is shocking.
