' DOUBTS OVER CARDIFF CITY'S NEW STRIKER '

Thu Feb 02, 2023 6:10 pm

Cardiff boss Sabri Lamouchi is unsure whether new signing Sory Kaba will be available to face Hull City on Saturday, with the striker still not in Wales as of Thursday morning.

The 27-year-old was signed on loan until the end of the season on deadline day, but he hasn't played any football since November meaning his match fitness is likely to be on the rusty side. Lamouchi also admitted he has yet to see the striker play.

New striker Sory Kaba has two goals in 27 games for Danish outfit Midtylland this season and they were happy to let him move on.

Kaba was Cardiff City’s only signing in the January transfer window.

Sabri Lamouchi:

"I need to see the player face-to-face," he said. "I have this report about him. Different country. Different league. Different time as well. The last game he played was in November. We have a lot of questions. Only with him here will we have the solution and the best way to use him. I don’t want to take a risk."

"I don’t know (if he'll be available). He’s not even in the building. He’s not in Cardiff. After his first session I can answer and say when he’s ready to play. For sure he will travel with us to Hull because he has to get to know the players and staff and the club."

Have you seen Kaba play?

Shortly. Shortly. I trust the people in the club. They chose him."

"They gave me many names. We signed him and I’m happy with this new player. So I’m just waiting."

I really really want something positive to say but how can we when we are in a dogfight and we are signing unknowns who our own manager hasn't got a clue who he is and he's not even fit ffs!! We needed strengthening ASAP and we haven't done it, if we do go down then tan really has reaped what he sowed.

So, very briefly, has our new big hope even had a medical with our club!?

According to Wales online he was booked in for a medical late Tuesday night, so if he has not got to Wales yet then we have to assume that he has not had a medical yet or it was in Denmark.

Let's hope this is not another blunder by our board, and hope they have got him insured. unfortunately we cannot guarantee he is with this lot

They say he has a bit of an attitude on him. Good start where is he? . He could have walked to Cardiff by now.

He's in Cardiff right now and will train with the team tomorrow. I would imagine he'll be on the bench at the weekend. I'd have expected that anyway. We're not buying the player so would the club necessarily need an extensive medical from their own team?

Another City classic, we've signed a player the manager hasn't seen, has had half a medical and hasn't played since for 3 m onths. Even better the committee have signed him!!
Oh hang on we've got le nnon Peake whose injury prone and won't be fit for two months. The shambles continues.

What about signing somebody that fit and who has played during the last decade?

It's not hard is it. Heading for relegation with poor, poor decisions like this!

Re: ' DOUBTS OVER CARDIFF CITY'S NEW STRIKER '

This signing sums up the way the club is being run and managed, we needed 1st Team players brought in that can hit the ground running, not someone that hasn’t played since we last won a game of football. Let’s be honest, even if he was to get fit, no one knows if he would be a player that could contribute and improve our game day results which is what we all know we need.

Shambles, the circus continues. Looks like Morecombe, Accrington etc.. next season as we didn't do the business in Jan.

Of course its, a shambles.
Odds on to go down.
To be honest after, 62 years of watching City I watch the home games but can't be,arsed to change the channel
to watch the away games.

Biglad6, what I don't understand about Peake is how the hell is he not ready to play as he was training with our 1st team whilst awaiting embargo outcome.

So lets get the information, in whatever form it has been given/guessed....

1. Certainly not signed by the manager
2. Not seen pictured in a shirt at the club
3. By all accounts not even in cardiff by yesterday
4. Not played since Nov
5. Has an attitude
6. Not had the best write up by any means from his current club/Danish fans
7. Lamouchi clearly in the dark as to who he is
8. Unclear whether he has had a medical, certainly not one in Cardiff by the Cardiff medical team.
9. It had been mentioned on here this was an on/off deal, and only finally on again when it was clear that the player couldnt get a move elsewhere.

Lets also bear in mind that for a club staring relegation in the face, we have signed just one player, this one, to save our season. A player who certainly does not seem to be busting a gut to get here.

He was signed not at the beginning of the window to make an immediate impact, but within minutes of it closing (and he'll be unlikely to play for a few weeks).

We needed so much more...

If this doesnt prove the committee have no interest in the clubs survival, or that players simply dont want to come here.... or prove a sale and change of ownership is confirmed for the Summer, nothing will.

The signing that will save our season will be sabri I think. He will find a system and get the best out of what we've got

WOW / PLENTY TO BE POSITIVE ABOUT & EVEN A MANAGER WHO HAD NO SAY ONCE AGAIN ON GETTING OUR MAIN PLAYER IN & HAS NEVER SEEN OR MET HIM.

Lowest scorers / worst runs for 120 years / near the bottom of the league / debts beyond / more court cases / virtually worthless squad and crowds dwindling.

Had 3 managers and a caretaker in one season.

Please tell me what is there to be positive about???

Annis it's the hope that kills you lol.

Is this where relegation catches up with us? Other clubs getting points deducted saves our skin last season.

Jules,

I’ve always had hope even in the old days, but under these I honestly only see misery.

I can just see it now. Doesn't show up to watch the Hull game and still out of country.

He doesn't want to come and we end up cancelling the loan deal

This is Cardiff after all

I’m not belittling the current situation but you do know we finished 18th last season and we were safe a few weeks before the end of the season allowing Morison to try things out ?

We did not stay up just because of others suffering points deductions so don’t re-write the narrative. It wasn’t great last season but it was much more comfortable than this season looks like it’s going to be unless the new manager has a similar effect to Morison.

Re: ' DOUBTS OVER CARDIFF CITY'S NEW STRIKER '

Fri Feb 03, 2023 1:21 pm

My apologies as it was an honest mistake on my part not rewriting any narratives.

Perhaps I should have rewritten it as in my opinion we would have gone down if the points deductions hadn't taken place.
