What Cardiff City’s New Striker will bring to the table:

Wed Feb 01, 2023 11:13 am

Cardiff are the lowest scorers in the Championship and need help at the top end of the pitch if they are to break their 12-game winless run and stay in the division.

By Glen Williams

New striker Sory Kaba aged 27 has three goals in 14 international games for Guinea. He has two goals in 27 games for Danish outfit Midtylland this season.

Nothing highlighted their lack of cutting edge than the 1-0 defeat by the Hatters. They looked blunt up top and in desperate need of a focal point, which they hope the 6ft 3in striker can bring to the table.

Kaba made his name in Spain at Elche and Elche B teams , for whom he scored 24 goals in 64 games while they were in the Spanish second tier and the 3rd tier.

In Denmark, though, he helped the club to win the league in his first season and has been a key part of their strike force, scoring 26 goals in 102 outings for the club in total.

The striker also enjoyed a fruitful loan spell in Belgium with OH Leuven last season, netting 10 times in 29 outings.

I watched Kaba play against Atletico Baleares in league 3.
He stood out because he is massive, but thankfully Atletico Baleares contained him well.

Never heard of him or seen him play so will keep my view until ive seen the man on the pitch, hopefully against Hull. Midtjylland sitting 7th in Danish league and get rid of one their strikers whilst still in Europa League but will give the fella a chance.

wasn't we told by someone we were once shopping at Harrods for players then we had to start using the pound stores , now we are entering into the charity shop

He'll bring nothing to the table. Bizarre signing. We need hardened Championship players. Connor Wickham would have been better if we are scraping the barrel. We are 100% going down. Bringing in Limouchi was a good move but then not backing him in the window is pointless. The club clearly are resigned to league one.

Like most of us, I know nothing about this new striker, so good luck to him.
But, in all honesty, is this one new signing the best we can do, considering the mess we are in.
Let's be honest, the team appear to be in free-fall to league 1, with this team that can't find the net.
I struggle to remember the last time we won a game.
I'll be amazed if this new lad alone will make much impression.
I hope both he and the club proves me wrong! :(

Hopefully more than salt and pepper and a bit of sauce
He looks a big unit lets hope we play o'dowda on the wing and whip those crosses is for him to head

This reminds ne a bit when mc'carthy was here we had keifer moore in the centre waiting for crosses and
mc carthy got rid of our wingers hoilett lang so played up the middle kets hope we don't do the same again.

Doesn't bode well when his name is "sorry" :-)

Let's give our new manager a chance, he has to work with what he's inherited including the new boy as I'm sure it wasn't his choice. I hope Sory Kaba is fit enough to start at the weekend as he can't do any worse than what we've got.
I don't want to know that he needs minutes in the legs on the grass with the group, to use manager speak for he's training but not match fit. When did these new sayings come in anyway? Let's give him a chance as well.

Exactly Monty.
We could have the best centre forward in world football but if we don't get quqlity ball into him he's unlikely to do much. To be fair, against Luton there were a few times where I found myself saying to myself 'We needed a big striker there' so good luck to him.

Best manager speak 'he's in the building'. :bluescarf:

its a funny old thing, he could have an awful scoring record, and then click at Cardiff. so i tend to avoid reading how many goals in how many games players have. Bothroyd for example, came to Cardiff and it just clicked for him. i'm hoping he plays either as a false 10, and if he is the old number 10, then Robinson plays off him, because i think he will win a few knock downs and flick ons, and with Robinsons pace i'm hoping he can get in behind and finish. O'Dowda and Davies either wing, plenty of pace. Ojo looks off it, and Harris isn't good enough for the 11.

TBF I think Ojo has been putting a real shift in lately. Don't think he has the pace for the wing but as a 10 he can carry the ball forward well.
