Sabri Lamouchi:
"It was a really good discussion. Very quickly, we found the way to finalise and the way to work together, so I'm very happy to be here. I know the situation of the club, but I'm here because I know the history of the club.
"So, it's not the easy challenge, but exciting challenge, I want to start to work with the players, with the team, to talk with the rest of the staff and players.
"And, as you know, we have just three days to try to find the right, and good, players for the team to add and be better. And at the same time we have a game away and the first one is in few days, Tuesday in Luton. So, I'm here and really happy to be here and very impatient to start work."
We understand the manager's contract runs only until the end of the season.
Lamouchi, however, was unequivocal in his belief that he would continue if he is able to keep the club in the second tier this season. In his words, he wants to build a future together.
"Talking with the club, it’s easy," he said about his deal. "I am not here just to save the club. I am here to try to have a future together.I cannot talk about the future if the job is not done.
"Our goal, my goal, is to work together for a long time. But for that, it’s to do a great job right now until the end of the season. And to see Cardiff in the Championship next season, that’s it."
If he does that, will he be in the dugout next season?
"Absolutely!" he replied.
