Let’s hope Tan does offer him his full support.
Great appointment by the ways, well done Vincent Tan but please back him as much as you’re allowed to.
Oh and let him do his job ;)

Re: Vincent Tan:

When he says ‘offer my full support’ does that include meddling in team selection and tactics. Asking for a friend

And so it begins...!

Not even got his training top yet and some staying the negative; masquerading as 'banter', 'humour', and 'joking'

Time to be (even just a little bit) positive as the new man (and Sol) settles in and finds his feet! :ayatollah:

Don't know why I bothered to be honest mate , we could have Fergie or Pep and that would be wrong.
Interested to read the 'our club' bit of his statement perhaps big changes are afoot meanwhile back at the ranch I will support him.

Re: Vincent Tan:

The joke and banter is about tans meddling and let's be honest it has become something of a joke to some of us obviously not all nothing to do with the new manager at all
out of all the mentioned mangers he was my favourite and liked him at forrest very animated on the side lines the sort of manager i like not those that lean on the dugout and say nothing till half time so its a positve from me and a negative for tans meddling on game days

Re: Vincent Tan:

Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:53 pm

The best way for Tan to support Sabri is to let sabri and his team run the football team selections etc and NOT stick his nose in as we all know from players in the past Tan does stick his nose in as he thinks he knows what players to pick when he actually doesnt so I hope he sticks by this manager.

Glad you agree on something love it animated mangers like kermit the frog waving arms about or natham jones pacing up and down kicking every ball totally involved in the game
quite and deep thinking mangers not for me.

2unconverted tries would do it as long as we keep a clean sheet.

Some accusing me of being fickle and not supporting the new manager looking at my previous post.
I have not had a go at the new regime at all. In fact I am desperate for them to succeed.
Tan on the other hand is a meddler and that’s a fact.
I know thinks are bad but for god sake a bit of humour to the situation eases my pain.

Re: Vincent Tan:

Tan is not the only owner who believes they can add something, the forest owners were right up there too.

I am not sure if this 12 times France capped, Auxerre, Parma, Inter, Genoa, and Marseilles player with 260 games as a head coach/manager will take much "advice". He doesn't stay long which suggests he is his own man and burns bridges. Probably what we need now

Re: Vincent Tan:

I'm happy with this appointment, to me it's our first proper manager since mad Mick or even Warnock because McCarthy had lost his mind lol.
Don't think he will take any crap off tan either

Does anyone else find the last bit of Tan's statement a bit ominous as regards strengthening the squad this window - " I’m confident Sabri will be able to deliver what this squad is capable of achieving"?

To be fair, he is only stating what most of us believe, i.e. this squad is better than its results...

Lennon Peake signed, a striker coming in and one other (unknown) hopefully to follow... :ayatollah:

Re: Vincent Tan:

I don't think for 1 minute this squad is supposedly better than most of us think. I unlike others can't speak for most of us but one thing I do know that two thirds of the season through we a fourth from bottom for a reason that simply we aren't very good . The league table at this stage of the season does not lie. Perhaps at the end of the season we can if relegated appeal to the EFL that we are better than we are and could we swap places with someone who is worse than their league position suggests.
Lennon Peake (apart from the usual one for the future nonsense) isn't fit won't be for two months and is starting out in the U21s which all means we wont see much of him until next season. We should not be signing long term injured players after Vassell/Tomlinson have we not learnt our lesson!

Not a fair point as that kid will be on peanuts compared to Tomlin or Vassell so it's no big deal if he turns out to be a dud. However I wish him well and hope it turns out great for him as if not for his injuries is probably the type of player we wouldn't get near.

And I can only speak for the many to whom I do (speak), and most of those say the squad is better than the results (not always performances)

Speaking for myself (for clarity) I 100% believe this squad is better than the sum of its parts so far this season and a proper striker (or two) plus the influence of a proper manager/coach (we now have one) will see us okay...

Think your confusing what you said originally with your last statement. We quite obviously aren't better than we think we are which is why we are 4th from bottom. Whether you , people you speak to or whoever does. It's a fact.
Totally different premise to add it we signed two forwards , a decent manager we would be better off, it we did that we quite obviously should.

I didn't confuse anything but you seem to have..

What exactly is a fact (in your eyes)? :?

The say 'the table never lies' and there is some merit in that; but League position means our squad (as a whole) isn't a more than decent one save for a better strike rate, does it?

It's all about opinion but stating yours as fact in this case is a little wide of the mark... :ayatollah:
