And in a big boost to City fans, it is thought club legend Bamba would be named as his assistant if a deal gets over the line. Lamouchi worked with Bamba while in charge of the Ivory Coast national team between 2012 and 2014.

My favourites were Smith or Ishmael but this would also be an excellent appointment.

Will it happen though ?

Happy with the manager but sol back ? I'm not to sure , I didn't like the way he slammed the club publicly when he left .but just like any team I will fully back the club and management

Club trying to finalise a deal for Sabri Lamouchi to become new manager before the weekend. Not quite over the line, but, apparantly close. Valerian Ismael still in the frame, Chris Hugton been contemplated too. Looking like Lamouchi, though - really rated by the Forest fans from his period at the City Ground. Has a reputation for setting his teams up to be very difficult to beat, favours a counter-attacking style.

Well we do have pace to play that style so wouldn’t need too much tinkering player wise, just a bit of tactical expertise.

Shame we missed Drameh, he would have fitted that style perfectly, although no announcement from Luton yet.

A very positive appointment if this happens but if he does will he come under the control of VT again and same old, same old.

May be a nice weekend after all :bluebird:

100% back them but do find the Bamba appointment strange. Hey-ho onward and very hopefully upward.

Word is that we have been in contact with Drameh at some point. I wonder if he’s been holding out to see if we make an appointment any time soon?

I’d settle for this as we have a bit of championship experience,I liked Bamba when he played for us but wouldn’t call him a legend.

Would of preferred Ism but atleast it's a proper manager who has more then a month experience.

Happy to see Bamba in his staff, can't think of many people who would be a better motivator in the dressing room

Imagine putting in a lazy shift and having to go in at half time and have Bamba having a pop at you

Quiet happy with this and bamba will bring some fight and passion with him now to get some signings in

Might be a decent option for where we are. Let’s hope he doesn’t tinker too much which he has done in the past. He’s good with young players and will give them a chance.

He’ll definitely lift these players and was unfortunate at Forest with the pandemic interruption.

Of course he's a legend

The fans were singing songs about him

He loves Cardiff irrespective of what he said about those who ran the club

Bamba will sort them out

Sol will be nothing but good for us, was mooted ages ago as a future decent management prospect, a leader and knows the club, so an assistant position is a great fit. I would have liked to have seen Huds retained as a coach too.

How I wish Drameh would have come back as he had a great time here and we were staving off a relegation threat when he joined us under Morison. Maybe put off by no current manager and the window is now tight, who knows but he would have fitted in perfectly with what I've read about Lanouchi's style.

Maybe this combination will be able to bring us some fresh faces from the continent.
Otherwise, I can see us bringing in the usual last minute left overs as free-transfers and loans that no-one else wants at the final day of the transfer window.
Can't say the combination excites me, but at the same time, it could be far worse.
A lot also depends on the support from the board and club owner.

So another Cardiff player to have his reputation tarnished when he becomes manager in 10 months time and then sacked 2 months later

only playing!

Hope this works out to be a good appointment a much improved option from what we've recently had! :ayatollah:

1st season he turned them around and nearly made the play offs , he had a disagreement with the first board as they sold players and never backed him
