He played over 400 games for us, didn't miss a game for three seasons - almost 150 games - a period in which we got to the semi finals of the cup winners cup, nearly won promotion to the first division on a few occasions and beat Real Madrid and you are judging him on his last season!!.

If it was your first season and his last i cant see how you can judge him on that. You were also presumably very young. His last season I think that was the season we got relegated, we had a bad side and he was probably the last player left over from a very good early seventies side. I saw him for over 10 years and whilst he wouldn't get near my top players he certainly wasn't a bad player and his record speaks for itself. I saw John Charles play twice and he was poor. But he was right at the end of his career and I wouldn't judge him on that.

Nobody will remember this guy I’m sure but we signed Micky Burns from Newcastle as a player coach (1979ish?) and he was an established striker for them.
Played about 10 games for us without scoring and we sold him to Boro where of course, he scored a hatful.

The 3 Norwegians that Solskjaer signed. I think they cost over £7m between them but what a waste of money.

Macheda wasn't a Warnock signing. We signed a few in those first couple of months. You are thinking of someone else but i am damned if i remember his name.

I remember him. He came with a good reputation and i remember being quite excited by the signing. I didnt realise he played so few games.

Have to agree with JJ1927, It is unfair to judge Don Murray at the twilight of his career. As JJ1927 says played over 400 games for us, he was skillful as well as being an old fashioned "chopper" and a credit to CCFC

If the OP had titled it " Most overrated Cardiff player you seen play?, maybe "Bakedalasker" might have a point.

As far as "most overrated player of all time" - there have been many but "josh Murphy" has to be up there for 12 million should have been on fire, but just seemed like couldn't be bothered.

I’ll give you 2 players overrated in modern times, Adam Le Fondre and Gary Madine, both strikers funny enough.

Ah yeah you're right - Macheda was an Ole signing.

Think it might of been Traore i'm thinking of getting them mixed up as they both played for QPR (possibly under Warnock?) but between Ole and Neil there was a ton of players that came and went and my old man memory getting worse
