Leaving the ground yesterday

On leaving the ground yesterday I noticed quite a large area in front of the stadium cordoned off by crowd control barriers.
Normally the cordon is just around the coach ready to take the away team away. This time it stretched into the car park creating a dangerous bottleneck and forcing fans to vie with cars leaving the car park.
Were there club expecting trouble????

Seems like they were being cautious 'just in case' and (H&S you mentioned apart) it was probably a sensible move after the result
