Always one clown:

2:15pm:

Then the fans left and supported their team.

Yes there was about 250, I was actually there.

Also if you were at the match , you would of heard loud singing by the Canton Stand “Vincent Tan get out of our club”

I know you fully support Tan and believe in him, that is your right.

But the majority don’t.

It’s not dividing our Club, Tan is.

Look at the empty ground etc

Well done to the younger element who demonstrated

And im sure the protests will get bigger and louder.

These protests should have happened years ago.

Lol. And most were there just to see what happens I imagine.
But let’s just say the 250 we’re all there to protest. What a small minority they represent. Even smaller than what I thought there would be. 1.32% of todays attendance. A long way off becoming a decent size group let alone the majority.

On the plus side it was the only thing that made me smile today.

Re: Was there a protest?

It looked more like 100-150 to me. With only 2 police there to control them who didn't seem to concerned about it.
Think there was also as many stood in car park watching, does show that it's not the majority though, many I spoke to today who were watching were saying the same, something needs to change but trying to force tan out could massively backfire on us

This was just organised by a few youngsters.

Listen the majority are voting with their feet.
4 years ago 33,000 , actually attending now 14,000.

I am one of those who would not stop attending if we had 5 relegations.

You are very naive if your going by a small demonstration, as I have been around long enough to know that means nothing.

Many fans are fed up, but they don’t even get involved in things like this.

But if you think the majority support Tan, then I will leave you with a few others believing that as there is No helping you.

Honestly wasting my time replying.

Just look at the empty seats and think why are they not here?

I agree with you many fans are fed up and want change, I am too. What I'm not so certain about is the change they want. Everyone wants a successful team and new owner but only if it's right for the club and will take us forward. Alot I talked to mentioned the support off tan through COVID and wondered where we would have been without him.
I'm like you, I will be there no matter what division we are playing in. Nothing will stop me going, it's in my blood.
I can't agree with you comparing attendances from 4 years ago, we all know the prem season was full of plastics and fans who came to watch the opposition.
Although there definitely has been a huge drop off in support, I would have expected an average around 21k If having a decent season. Higher if pushing for promotion

The protest might have seemed small but its a start. These things have to start somewhere.

Remember it was only organised a couple of days before and only mentioned on this forum as far as I know so a lot of people wouldn't have known about it. It will become more frequent and more people will join.

Some people don't like to protest like that and will protest by not turning up to games.

If we don't get a decent manager in the results won't alter and protests/ demonstrations and fans not turning up will become more commonplace.

Things will turn very sour very soon.

Tan out

Exactly.

Spurs 40 fans protested yesterday , they get 60,000 crowds , but thousands on their sites support them.

Our problem is we can’t take banners etc in , Other clubs can, No freedom of speech.

But years of Tan running our club he has, now put us in trouble on and off the pitch and does not seem interested at all.

I will tell What it achieved the Media are talking about it and I will be sending it to the one paper in Malaysia that dislikes Tan who backed our protest last time.

Look even Glen Williams
BBC etc

Can't disagree that he doesn't seem interested, he either needs to show he is and give us some hope or sell up if he truly isn't. The next 2 weeks are massive and should show one way or the other.
The one point i will make is that why would he be such a pita apparently phoning mangers at half time if he didn't care?

I wasnt at the protest but fully believe that fans do have a right to voice their opinions
The club is a shambles right now

Bonner,

So just for the record your fully behind Tan??

Re: Was there a protest?

Mon Jan 23, 2023 7:36 pm

Personally I think Tan is doing the right job putting the money in, however doing the wrong thing by employing complete mongos in charge spending the money nilly willy and wasting it which is affecting the club overall, performance, fans and everything.

I think the board needs to go first because as soon as we get a decent backroom staff with tans '£3 million a month' I think we would be fine.

But also I do want that tw** to go. Tan out

Majority of what I saw was kids (as I said it was very early on)
Wasn't even discrediting annis or others either.

Re: Was there a protest?

The BBC mentioned the protest in their match report plus an angry atmosphere and chants of Tan out. TBH, there's been a sea change over the last couple of weeks with all media outlets and pundits saying that we are in trouble and now in the crazy situation of trying to appoint a third manager within a single season. Essentially saying that fans have had enough, which even the most patient of us now have.

If the protests, chants , atmosphere and subsequent media coverage make VT and the board actually do something, then so be it. We have reached that point. And as always, the radio silence is deafening. We will all however be 100% behind the team and whoever the new manager is.

Spot on.

At least these kids are doing something about it.

The publicity for such a small protest has been more than I thought it would be.
