Earnshaw: Cardiff in 'big trouble' in bid to avoid drop

By Glen Williams

Fellow ITV pundit and ex-Bluebirds man Robert Earnshaw was less sympathetic. He was, in fact, scathing in his analysis of the performance at Elland Road and the situation in which Cardiff find themselves.

After the match, the former Wales striker said on ITV: "They were so poor for so long. Pretty much get a lucky goal there. Cardiff are in big trouble, because, for this game here, you come away to Leeds, and until the last time minutes you've shown absolutely nothing.

"Defensively open, completely open, so easy to play up against. Cardiff are in big trouble of going down."

Having his say on the managerial situation before the match, Earnshaw didn't hold back then, either.

"Five managers, two years. It's not a good platform or a steady environment to build a football club, because there's so many moving pieces," he said.

"He's another one who comes in and takes charge and it's about settling the ship, really. Making sure they stay in the league.

"At the start of the season people were looking at them and thinking maybe this is the season they actually go back up to the Premier League. But that's not the case right now. That's where they find themselves, 21st in the league, not good enough for Cardiff City.

"Fanatical fans, great passion, great club. Should be higher up."

"At the start of the season people were looking at them and thinking maybe this is the season they actually go back up to the Premier League."

Who was thinking that!? :laughing5:

Exactly, nobody was thinking Cardiff would go up the season. Earnie just trying to make his way as a pundit and either talking nonsense or just stating the obvious.

I feel sorry for him,he was on the programme because ITV thought he must know something about Cardiff City.
He obviously doesn't and started making up rubbish as he went along.

He spoke about cup game.. pressure off.. ,enjoy yourselves ,no bearing on the league blah blah blah...to ending up we were rubbish hopeless cases and now due to this result certs for relegation!
At the start the season he said we all thought this is the year to get back to the Prem!....oh dear now his medication was running out..
He talked about the performance of the team as if this was the regular 11 didn't seem to know this was a thrown together second string ..
Kept harping on about lack of goals but after this game we had scored 5 in the last three games, should have been six mind....at this point ITV realized he knew nothing about Cardiff and won't get the gig again.
Teach him for not doing any research before a game.

He is an awful pundit, Gabbidon is 100 times better.

loved him as a player, but by god is he an awful pundit.

said after Sparky scored against blackburn earlier in the season, thats the goal that will now take him to a new level, he will be a new level of player after scoring one like that.

and another when Hudson was in charge for swans game, he said he's interested to see how we play, because he knows Mark well, and Marks style of football is nothing we've ever seen before.
