UPDATED: Warnock says he’s not interested

Thu Jan 19, 2023 1:27 pm

NW gave an interview on BBC5 at lunchtime saying he hasn’t spoken to Cardiff and isn’t interested in being a full time manager again …does think Cardiff will appoint someone in next few days .
Believe that an older head needs to work with new managers but not necessarily D o F ..

Maybe a bluff but seemed to definitely rule himself out

So those on here who were adamant that he met Mehmet Dalman at the Vale and, despite the club`s vehement denial that it happened, continue to claim it and will now continue to claim that a "reliable source" have said he is joining us as manager?

I don`t believe everything the club says (far from it) but I do know who I would prefer to believe. Someone who is willing to put his name to a statement that something didn`t happen or someone relying third hand on what has been said by someone`s friend`s dad`s dog`s second cousin`s handler.

He'd defo be interested if we wanted him, that confirms we are looking elsewhere and haven't spoken to him, let us hope it's someone decent with experience.

Good news this, personally thought it to be a step backward if he had come back. Then all we've been through changing style etc would have been for nothing.

The only change of style is continually losing at home

I think it’s the other way round Tan doesn’t want him.

Don't think Warnock style is suited to the players we've got

Agree , Tan wasn't happy with the Murphy transfer and I can't blame him a waste of 11 million.

On talkSPORT this morning, Alan Brazil asked Neil Warnock about the continued Bluebirds rumours...

Quote (Neil Warnock): "I laugh at some of the stories I've read. I was at their training ground last week for talks..."

He then changed the tack of the conversation and they moved on...

Talks about what? The weather, social issues, holiday homes in Wales, a job back at the club?

As previously stated, I understand the latter and this undoes some of the negativity towards those of us who said he was here, despite denials to the contrary

A cagey lot at our club; and Neil Warnock is a master of deflection himself... ;)

Did you hear the interview? You do realise he was being sarcastic when he said he was at the training ground ? In the same sentence he said that he had to laugh at some of the stories he had read.

Why twist this post now to suggest that he was at the Vasle and that the club had lied about it?

You are off again, there is no suggestion off Sven that he was at the vale, only in your head :banghead:

Keith, I did hear the interview 'live' and I alluded to both parts you mention in my original post, so not sure what you feel I got wrong...?

Was it sarcastic? I didn't take it that way but I guess it's open to interpretation; the main crux here being that you feel the club would have told you if contact had been made, whilst others have been told by usually reliable people that contact has been made

It's all a game of hit-and-miss when posting on such matters and when our club's custodians are so poor at supporter relations, it is not difficult to hide many facets of the inner circle's dealings

The vehemence of many on here to say Neil Warnock is not on the 'wanted' list is only matched by those who believe he is (or at least was)

When you say that there is no suggestion off Sven that NW was at the Vale , then what do Sven`s own words in his post "this undoes some of the negativity towards those of us who said he was here" mean? It doesn`t just say "those" but "those of us"

My post wasn`t a go at Sven personally, as I say in my response direct to him below.

Firstly, just to make clear that I don`t believe everything that the club says about various matters. Their in house communications team are not great and their external communication with fans is generally awful.

In the case of the Neil Warnock alleged meeting however my opinion is based on the fact that the club Chair was willing to clearly state, in writing, that he had not met with Neil Warnock at the Vale or anywhere else for years. The alternative opinion is based only on a claim by an anonymous person that another "reliable source" anonymous person that a meeting took place.

Subsequently Neil Warnock has also said that no such meeting took place.

Keith, nothing but resoect for, as I hope you know...

I fully understand your points and I guess my only point is that things happen very quietly at this club (often to be applauded) and we can only fill in the gaps as best and as honestly as we can

My off Forum source has been reliable one on some big stories but I accept no one ever gets it 100% right

Interesting times at our beloved club and never a dull moment... :ayatollah:
