Who has decided on his appointment?

Another change behind the scenes at Cardiff City

There has already been a casualty on the coaching staff in 2023.

Earlier this month, head of physical performance PJ Wilson left. Wilson, who had a background in rugby, was brought in last summer under Steve Morison, but has exited just seven months later.

His departure came before the sacking of Mark Hudson at the weekend.

Cardiff have brought in someone to fill Wilson's role, though. Jonny Northeast cut his teeth at Swansea City, where he spent seven years and became the club's head of sports science and fitness. He also held a sports science role with Wales' under-19s team until 2018.

He then moved to the States and joined DC United, where he became the performance director for the MLS side.

Northeast then came back to the UK in 2020 and linked up with Valerien Ismael at Barnsley, before moving with him to West Brom and, last year, Besiktas, where Dean Whitehead coached.

Did ok at Barnsley, not so well at WBA or Besiktas but would be happy to give him a go, cant be any worse than Warnock coming back, though feck knows what we will do

i've been calling for this for a while, it seemed players would pick up a knock, and during the recovery period then find themselves ruled out ever further, Isaak Davies was out for 9 months, and we kept hearing he's back on the training pitch, Rubin would be the same, Adams, injured his shoulder, and then picked up muscular leg injuries i believe, i think a Rugby fitness coach was the wrong idea, so i am glad we got a football one in
