The transfer impact:
By Glen Williams
Another big aspect of all this is the impact it has on the transfer strategy.
Last week, things started to look up. A good performance against Leeds United, the first instalment of the Emiliano Sala fee was paid and the transfer embargoes were in the process of being lifted.
Mark Hudson had been given the green light to start looking at transfer targets, with recruitment desperately needed to aid their woes up front.
But now, what happens?
Well, presumably, a new manager has to come in before any transfers are rubber-stamped, because what's the point in bringing in players a new boss might not want?
That is another big reason this situation cannot rumble on for weeks. Cardiff have to be decisive and get to work in the January window. Because they need more goals and more creativity in the building - that is inarguable.
Rivals cannot be afforded any more advantage over Cardiff like getting a jump on them in the window. Cardiff have already seen half the transfer window fly by under an embargo, they cannot allow the second half to zip past, too.
