Jeremy Simpson (Ref)

Sun Jan 15, 2023 10:43 am

I hope this clown can sleep at night. Had a terrible game and playing over the 4 mins allocated why I cant understand cost a Manager his job. It seems a Ref is a law to himself and his side kick puppets. A win yesterday would have saved his job. Its showing up every week how bad the referees are getting with VAR forever over ruling them as for Simpson what a useless pratt.

Not going to look for excuses for yesterday, it was poor.

But the timings by the referee have to be questioned.

For 45 mins if the 2nd half he found 4 extra minutes. That was actually lower than it should have been due to time wasting from both sides, injuries and substitutions. But it’s what he decided.

But then he finds an extra 2+ minutes in those 4 minutes during which the equaliser is scored !!

It simply defies all logic and I’d love to hear the explanation!!

Perhaps the clown in the front row of grandstand keeping the ball, gave the ref a perfect excuse to add an extra minute

Just a few points.

Firstly it's a "minimum" of four minutes added time so more can be played - there's no requirement that the whistle blows at the end of the four minutes

Secondly. it didn't help that the knobhead in the grandstand was hanging on to the ball rather than throw it back to the Wigan player in added time and then threw the ball away onto the pitch.

Thirdly, the game continued long enough after their equaliser to enable us to get into the penalty area so that the ref could theatrically refuse us a decent shout for a penalty before blowing the final whistle.

Having said that this clown was the latest in an extremely long line of incompetent officials we have had the misfortune of having to endure at CCS. His inconsistency was staggering - yellow cards for our players for fouls which Wigan got away with, A yellow for Allsop for time wasting whilst Amos got away with murder when it was 0-0 including pretending to be injured.

Of course the ultimate irony of Amos time wasting at 0-0 was that the time added for his time wasting enabled his team to equalise.

One of my mates is insistent that these refs and linesmen are being given explicit instructions to give us nothing

I wouldn't go that far but we do seem to have been a bit unfortunate with the standard of referees we've had inflicted on us this season.

He actually played more than 6. The goal was scored just past 96 mins but we had enough time left to play back I. To their box and have a penalty shout. So more like 97 mins

There was a lengthy stop immediately the 'added time' commenced, so reasonable the referee added it on...

No one (on here) would be complaining, if we were 1 - 0 down and pushing; or if we'd got that (fir me blatant) penalty...

We cannot keep blaming others for tbe consistency with which we throw points away and playing-wise the buck will always stop at the manager (sadly in Mark Hudson's case)

I absolutely agree that we shouldn’t blame others.

But surely finding just 4 mins after 45 mins and then a further 2/3 minutes in just those extra 4 minutes is somewhat inconsistent to say the least !!??
