For me it's a no. That ship has sailed. Opinions?

More importantly does Tan cos I don’t think he does.

Yep, the football fantasists have had a reality bump.

No, No, No, time to move forward not backwards.

Re: Do You Want Warnock Back?

Sat Jan 14, 2023 10:30 pm

We've gone 5 steps back since he was here.
I don't understand the "don't go backwards" statement.
Weve been going backwards since he left.
Its like saying we wouldn't have Ramsey back

If he can keep us up. Then yes. He has a rather good track record of turning struggling sides around. I don’t think he’d be tbr guy to take us onwards but I’d have no issue him coming in short term to keep us up.

In 2 minds did' nt like hoofball but don' t like been in relagation zone and since he left how can it be his fault that we have been sh.t ever since
all his fault we have done f.a. since he left and where 2 points off staying in the prem with the sh.t.est budget any club has ever had in the prem.

If any manager was coming back I'd rather Dave Jones. Actually I'd love to have him back

Re: Do You Want Warnock Back?

The last time Warnock 'saved us' we had whitt's Guunason Manga Morrison Bennett and it was early October. That was a decent underperforming team. This time we're poor unless Warnock was aloud to bring in 5/6 players I think he'd struggle.

Re: Do You Want Warnock Back?

Better the devil you know, it's a yes from me but only until May.

He can't really do too much damage with zero £££££ to spend. One thing for sure, if we stick with Whitehead, Ramasut and Chesterfield we are buggered.

You've got to wonder what the heck Choo and Dalman are up to, they stuck with Hudson when he was poor as interim manager (aside from a mini bounce in his first couple of games) and has been abysmal, as a permanent manager. He should never have got the job but should certainly have been removed before the WC, its probably too late now for anybody to save us, even Colin.

If you believe the bull, we had targets lined up, and unless Whitehead and crew get them in before a new incumbent steps in, the window will shut, and we will have shipped out raw but squad players we may need when injuries and suspensions kick in, and we will have a centre half, that based on our defense at least, we don't need.

YES if it’s a choice between another cheap inexperienced manager or Warnock

Re: Do You Want Warnock Back?

If we do have him back don't give him loads of money

Re: Do You Want Warnock Back?

Sun Jan 15, 2023 10:55 am

Yes , he would of made sure we held onto those 3 points yesterday..
he won’t have money to spend, but he wld get in the players on loan to keep us up.
Would go for Dean Smith if we had a choice … def need experiance.

That's how I am looking at it.

We will need to get rid of 5/6 players to allow Warnock to bring in that amount. Warnock will see that and turn us down I reckon.

With what we have its going to take an exceptional manager. Its a big risk for whoever is out there.

Re: Do You Want Warnock Back?

It's a no for me. We need a Director of football, for me Dave Jones would be ideal. Then an experienced manager is needed , but with a track record of a style of football that Morison was trying to achieve. Ian Holloway springs to mind as an example.

Re: Do You Want Warnock Back?

We need saving ,we need Warnock , but Warnock doesn't need us .
Any decent manager will want big wages ,and a decent budget . Tan does not . So its Whitehead's turn, whos been at the club 5 minutes. Keep spinning that roulette wheel Vincent !

Sorry don’t agree with that.

We have Kipre, Allsop, Romeo, Wintle, Rinomhota, Robinson, O’Dowda all of whom are top quality performers at this level and why the manager had to go.

The problem is can these players fit into a Warnock style ?

No, too much baggage from last time.
Holloway yes but for me DJ would save us and build on what we got next season as we have the players.

It depends who the other options available are.

If it's a choice between Warnock and another nelly no-name, then i'm choosing Warnock every time.

Re: Do You Want Warnock Back?

Our situation removes any meaningful choice we have.

Lowly position, no budget and not attractive.

All these remove any chance we have for a decent manager. The first two also remove us bringing in another inexperienced manager or lower league manager on the up.

Our situation only points to Warnock andthat is only because of familiarity, but as Baked has said, would he come with the squad we currently have.

Robinson is the only one I would class as a top quality championship player.
O Dowda is decent but there's a reason he's spend most of his carrer at mid to bottom half championship clubs. Romeo has jumped between between league 1 and championship Wintle and Alslop aren't young and spend most of there carriers in league 1.
I'm not slagging any of them off and they wouldn't look out of place in a top half team but there not top quality and when mixed with players who are way passed their best (Swayers) or not championship standard you end up with a relegation battle.

No !!

I judge on performances and all of those, individually, have been outstanding for virtually the whole season.

If you can’t see that Wintle and Kipre are quality as well as the others then I think you need to remember we’re playing in the Championship not the Premier.

Put it this way, if any of those(plus Davies and Colwill) were up for sale there would be a lot of higher placed Championship clubs bidding for them. That tells you how strong that squad is and how poorly Hudson has managed them.

This squad, quality wise, is arguably better than what Warnock had to play with when he got us up. However, I do wonder whether it’s balanced enough.
