Another Tan yes man gone:

Nice guy and wish him all the best, perhaps keep him at the club somehow...

Who will Tan choose next? And who would choose us under this rudderless regime....

Thanks Hudson but ultimately just not good enough unfortunately. All the best for the future.

Breaking news omn BBC Wales

Struggling Cardiff City have sacked manager Mark Hudson after 13 months in charge of the Championship club.

The former Bluebirds captain was relieved of his role within hours of their 1-1 home draw against bottom club Wigan Athletic.

Cardiff are one place and three points above the relegation zone.

In a statement Cardiff thanked Hudson for his efforts, adding: "The club's search for a new permanent manager will begin immediately."

In the meantime Dean Whitehead will be interim manager while Tom Ramasut stays assistant manager with goalkeeping coach Graham Stack also remaining among the backroom staff.

Cardiff added: "The board of directors would like to place on record its thanks to Mark for all of his work as a player, coach and manager whilst with the Bluebirds.

"We wish Mark all the very best of luck for the future."

We all know what’s going to happen, whitehead gets a couple of good results then given the job till the end of the season keeps us up, then bad start next season then gets the sack

The next appointment is key so hopefully we get a decent manager in but I highly doubt it

Too nice. Decent bloke, great City player and wish him well but he had to go. No wins in 9 and no discernible improvement in the football. The Leeds game was a blip. A new manager has a chance to freshen things with a couple of signings. Experience and leaders are essential, including the manager. We are in serious trouble but we are far from a lost cause. Football is cruel sometimes but in a way maybe todays late equalizer was a blessing in disguise.

Awful decision to sack Morrison and replace him with Hudson in the first place.
I'm not going to hold out any high hopes that the powers in the club will be getting anyone competent to replace him.

Shame, nice guy, but results matter.

Really hope the club have a decent replacement lined up. We CANNOT go for another guy with limited championship experience.

Was always going to happen even 8 games ago it could of happened. Warnocks phone will be going for sure. It be hard for any manager to keep this squad from around the bottom end imo but we shall see what nodding dog comes in next.

Yeah morison was clearly building and not given enough time and Hudson like mick Mccarthy given too much time when obvious needed to go

If it is Warnock he must NOT be allowed ANY permanent signings. Only loans and free's....his activity in the transfer market is questionable if you know what i mean.

Exactly, the last few games at home were the ones we had to win. We are down. Tan can kiss goodbye to ever getting any money for this football club. Could he even give it away?

I'd like to think the club have already got someone in mind, surely they have been sounding people out ready and must have a shortlist.
I dont think Warnock is the answer, even on a short contract. Let's not forget we've got some decent players, they just need utilising right, a system they believe in and some confidence.

What exactly would attract Smith, Dyche or Wilder to risk their reputations working under a regime like ours with the current squad and no money to buy any players?

I doubt those running our club have any idea who those guys are.

Any one of those and we edge to mid table i'm convinced. But would these managers fancy working under a superstitious megalomaniac who thinks the keeper should shoot more....

Re: Breaking: Mark Hudson gone....

Sat Jan 14, 2023 7:37 pm

There is only one name on the list for new manager and that is Neil Warnock.

Not because it SHOULD be him but because, in the clubs current situation there is no one else.

Not the time to blood another young manager and not the league position or funds for a 'name' to want to take it on.

We are left with old hands who are out of work and why go elsewhere when there is someone who KNOWS what he is getting himself into.

Agree with your sentiments. Mark Hudson is a nice guy who was given the proverbial 'Poison Chalice' after the shock sacking of Steve Morison. Not his fault; he had to take the opportunity but it has proved to be slightly beyond him

Nothing to gloat about that comment. In fact, I find it both sad and disappointing for him and the club

I only wish that he might be kept on at the club in his original capacity and we move forward with an externally appointed manager, who can get a tune out of this (for me) capable squad

I feel for Mark Hudson and I wish him all tge very best for his and his family's future... :ayatollah:
