Manchester City could recall striker Liam Delap from his loan at Stoke City.
Delap was a summer target for former Cardiff Steve Morison, who admitted the youngster was a player he looked to sign before the window shut in September.
"Do you think I'm not trying?" Morison said when asked if they wanted to add to their forward options. "It's not that I'm not making those decisions. There is not anyone in our remit at the minute that's available.
"Sam Surridge is not available. Liam Delap is someone we looked at, he picked Stoke over us and West Brom. Ellis Simms was someone we looked at but he picked Sunderland over us. We have been close. We just haven't got one."
The Telegraph now report City could bring back Delap from his stint in the Potteries and re-loan him out, "with a number of other Championship clubs interested". This could well prompt the Bluebirds into a re-think, and with their transfer embargo now lifted, further firepower could be on the agenda before the window closes.
