Niels Nkounkou off ?

French Club, Saint-Etienne are in advanced negotiations over a loan deal for Niels Nkounkou. The French Left Back has been on loan at Championship side Cardiff City since the summer and could join Saint-Etienne in the coming days

Yes, it’s a shame because he’s really exciting going forward but there’s a reason why he’s on loan to us !!

He's a liability but didn't it say the other day that both clubs had decided he should stay with us.

Bagan showed on Saturday he’s a capable left back/keeper. He can defend and does get forward.

I can’t help but think because he has. A baby face we over look him!!

Good going forward, awful at defending. Maybe a LWB or winger but i don't think he will make it as a LB, definitely not in the prem anyway unless he massively improves his defending.

With O'Dowda's ability in the final 3rd I'm surprised we never gave Bagan a game at LB to keep O'Dowda further forward. Red card aside (brillIant save mind and almost paid off), I thought Bagan was brilliant against Leeds. Defended well, got forward and looked to turn their defenders with balls over the top. Hopefully see him back after his suspension.

If Nkounkou leaves, surely this means the club are confident on bringing in a player(s) before the window shuts?

I'd have had him play as a winger to be totally honest. Great going forward.

Agrred cost us at least 5 goals this season, but superb passer and trier but not what we need right now

Last game he was too close to the CB time after time, where they actually had to move him themselves.
He runs like he's in quick sand.

Sorry, I can't agree but each to their own

Bagan is a promising player who will improve with experience. He hasn't really let us down when given the opportunity and confidence is king for all players

wages were high defending was poor im glad to see him gone. Id be happy to finish 20th playing jittery Joel Bagan. His handball was genius but his overall play in the FACup game had me nervous for him. I’ll happily give a welsh youth kid time to kick on.

I don’t think Bagan is beyond hope but I certainly don’t think he’s the answer right now. His defending is as bad, if not worse, than Nkounkou and I’m not convinced it’s improved based on some of his positioning on Sunday !!
