Toxic atmosphere

Tue Jan 10, 2023 4:47 am

Seems to be plenty of doom and gloom around the club at the moment, especially on this site,

Answer me this, if we were playing in league 2 and had a starting 11 made up of players from the academy, would it really be that bad ?

Seen some on here saying they’ve given up, never going again etc

Are you for real ? It would be interesting too see who the real supporters were if it ever came down too it

With my little pick and shovel I’ll be there

It’s why we normally play better away.

Very toxic.

The seeds of doom and gloom have been sown by, and lie clearly at the feet of the regime running the club.

League 2 and a starting XI from the academy would be an absolute disaster based on whsre we were, and where we currently sit. In the 1980s and 90'it was expected, we were rubbish, we were poor, the fans knew it and stuck together.

Sam Hammam changed that. Expectations rocketed, fans flocked, promotions, flowing football. The club was marketed in such a manner that it became a magnet to football fans on the area.

Ive said I will not go to the club again while the regime remain in control. Im not paying the Berjaya group any more of my Money. It does not mean I am not a supporter. Im a supporter who has had his heart and soul ripped out by an owner setting the club up to die. A supporter whose enjoyment, enthusiasm, excitement taken away from me by the pure folly and selfishness of one man.

If you are reading Mr Tan, Cardiff City is a club, that ANY owner prepared to invest and market appropriately, and who had a little football nous, and surrounded himself/herself with football people could get to the Premier League and stay there.

My opinion? You want to lift the doom and gloom? It starts and ends with the removal of Tan and his clowns.

The only toxic atmosphere is on this board most people I know go down and support the team, they don't get involved in the behind the scenes stuff as they cant change it , they just want to be entertained and on Sunday they were .

I think that is a fair assessment, as long as they give 100% for the shirt and battle for everything I tend to be happy, yes get frustrated at times but who doesn't. If we played like we did against Weeds every week we would be in a nice position and the doom and gloom would less noticeable.

As for behind the scenes stuff, I cannot change it no matter what I say, no matter what I say or ask so tend not to worry about it, contemplate potential outcomes, yes but worry about it, definitely not.

There are far more important things in life than worrying if VT is going to pay a bill to lift an embargo, it is what it is at the end of the day but I do think the human element and compassion has gone by the wayside in that a young man lost his life and another man lost his life and has never been found, the pain their family feels is far more painful than if I think the way they run the club is poor. :bluebird:

Yes the average says 17,500 at home, but 12,000-14,000 are actually attending, i think thats very poor, only a few seasons ago, 33,000 were attending, with 22,500 season ticket holders, since then they dropped every season

It's always been the case that a few 1000s season ticket holders don't turn up even in the premiership

But don’t you think crowds of 12,000 are not good and it shows fans are not happy??

I know loads of old and new season ticket holders who have lost interest this season, saying it’s awful down there on and off the pitch abd it looks like it in tv as well.
