FIRST HALF:

Against the run of play: GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Leeds United (Philogene 24) :bluebird: :bluebird:
Lovely ball from Sang down the line to Harris, whose shot is blocked. He then feeds it to Davies, who also has a shot blocked, but it falls kindly to Philogene, six yards out, and he slots home. :bluebird: :bluebird:

GOAL! Cardiff City 2-0 Leeds United (Ojo 31) :bluebird:
Goal! Ojo! :bluebird: :bluebird:

Harris does brilliantly to step inside and lay-off Rinomhota, who sticks a stunning ball over the top of the Leeds defence and Ojo is cool as anything, taking the ball down before rifling into the roof of the net. Wow. 2-0. :bluebird:

Joel Bagan booked

Goal. Rodrigo heads home.

A lovely cross from Greenwood and Rodrigo gets in front of Nelson and Sang and heads at goal. Alnwick gets a hand on it, but it's too powerful for him and hits the back of the net.

Huge huge huge difference without Ralls and wintle slowing it down.
That has been our Achilles for ages

Don't think we can quite blame it on that. Ultimately it was backs against the wall. 10 men Vs premier league opposition. Thought we did enough to hold on... Oh well. One lucky bounce away from the win.

We had no outlet second half and ultimately ran out of luck. Great effort though, can't ask of asked for more. Scored twice and that has to grow confidence. We needed that. Isaac Davies was also excellent and another big positive from today.

Shame we couldn't hang on in the end. Thought we were excellent in the first half going forward. Used our pace to get behind them - hopefully we do this Saturday as well. Second half we were backs to the wall defending and Leeds showed the difference in quality with their subs. Players put their bodies on the line though and I Can not fault the effort today.

It's a shame Sawyers gasses after 60min or we could really change it up but doesn't have the legs against motivated championship battlers.

I have underestimated how decent Davies is a center forward, but we need a genuine 9 and we'll be mid table pretty soon

I must admit I was surprised by those stats when I saw them earlier.

I thought we were relatively comfortable for 70 mins and if we’d kept 11 men on the field we might have hung on.

Leeds had lots of shots but did Alnwick have to make any saves you wouldn’t expect ?

Stats don’t always tell the full story I suppose !!

I absolutely loved yesterday, a great Cup Tie / on and off the pitch :bluebird: :bluebird:

Plus its brought in a few £ hundred thousands from tv and gate receipts etc :thumbright: :bluebird:

Plus we had £150,000 from our home Championship game v QPR on Boxing Day and another £150,000 coming up v Reading. :bluebird: :bluebird:
