Everton and Cardiff City arrive at Niels Nkounkou transfer conclusion after talksBy Pranav ShahaneyEverton and Cardiff City were reportedly in talks over loanee Niels Nkounkou this week and according to Wales Online [6 January], they have concluded that he is best served by continuing the rest of the season in the Welsh capital.
There were reports about bringing the 21-year-old back to Goodison Park, but it seems like the club have decided against it.
It’s pretty evident that Frank Lampard does not have plans to play the left-back regularly as he would be the third or fourth choice.

Well now that we know that he's staying for the rest of the season I'd really like to see him being tried further up the pitch starting on Sunday against Leeds.
We can all see that he is suspect in defence but he could offer something different as a wide midfield or as a left winger.
Has to be worth a go surely?

I agree; what have we got to lose?
Maybe his '
use' so far was part of the conversation?

It may just be my aging brain but he did seem to be a source of a lot of our goals with an erratic injection of pace, never really looking like he knew what he was going to do next, but flummoxing the opposition. He just isn't a defender.

Also the source for alot of the goals conceded too. Really useful going forward but can't defend to save his life.

Play him as forward instead of Harris/whyte/ojo. His work rate was always decent and has a lot of pace. Can not defend though!

We all seem to agree.
Its been patently obvious after 3 or 4 games that he is aliability as a full back. Also he “seems” quite dangerous going forward. I agree we have little to lose trying him further forward where we have little physical presence and little threat. Many of us have said that on other threads for a couple of months
Just makes you wonder whether they have triedthat in training? If not, whynot??

Completely agree Chris, not an LB for me, he clearly loves getting forward and I've been excited quite a few times when he's done that, has to be worth a shot.
