WHOSE EMBARGO ? : It appears that we are under two

Fri Jan 06, 2023 7:16 am

WHOSE EMBARGO ? :

It appears that we are under two different embargoes that work differently . Is that the case ? How can they be lifted ?

We know that we are under a FIFA 3 window transfer embargo .

We also know that we are on an ‘open’ EFL embargo (CCFC’s name appears on their embargo web site).

We know that the EFL embargo can be lifted IF we pay Nantes ‘IN FULL’ meaning ALL three payments . However the very important question is :

“Can the FIFA embargo be lifted or is it cast in stone “? I am told that ….it can’t be lifted except if our present appeal to the Swiss Federal Court (SFC) succeeds . To succeed it means that the SFC must overturn both the FIFA ruling as well as the CAS court ruling …..

I believe that the chances of that succeeding are very low to none .

Naturally we fans are extremely concerned and the Club must explain the whole situation to us TRUTHFULLY !

Mark Hudson finally clarified in his press conference today, that the club is under a FIFA transfer embargo not an EFL transfer embargo.

That means we can't even sign free agents, or bring in loans if space in our squad opens up?

???

BUT MARK HUDSON WE ARE ON BOTH?

Coventry City have been removed.

CCFC HIERARCHY NEED TO BE HONEST TO OUR FANS / TELL US.

There must be a plan to be able to bring players in otherwise why would he let some go out? Doesn't make sense.
Is that why we couldn't sign mozza? Not to keep a squad space but because we couldn't if we wanted too.
I wish someone from the club would actually clarify the whole situation, let us know what's possible or not, so many different things floating around and any could be right

Silence is deafening and it's obviously going to impact the rest of our season.
Why wouldn't they want to give us fans some hope if it was possible. Instead of us getting our hopes up about things we believe are possible but may not be

I think it's time we give Hudson a break as it's certainly looks like he is the only one trying to communicate with us fans as obviously the car salesman and politician are doing a Sunak. MIA.

I'll still buy ours though, to some it doesn't matter how it's promoted. Will buy no matter what. It's our club I support not tan, and we are needed more than ever

Why send players out on loan especially strikers which is a problem position at the moment if we can't bring anyone in
? . Unless of course its Tan trying to save more money. As other people are saying let's get the truth exactly what is going on that's if Tan or the board can spare a few minutes of their precious time to let the fans know. Mark Hudson is doing his best to keep the fans up to date but as all Cardiff Managers do is what the dictator Tan tells him to say. As Tan has a few quid in the bank and has a net value of over £740 million why doesent he pay up on the Sala transfer get the embargo lifted then appeal again on the insurance front. Having Been a fan and supporter for over 60 years Iv never seen the club in such a mess the truth is something the present owner has never heard about how much longer is this going on for?

If you have been a fan that long you should have seen us in much more of a mess....nearly going out football league? Kumars, Clemo, 10 mins from disaster under Sam....Ridsdale....this is nothing in comparison

Don’t forget there were a few owners that were worse than what we have now including Clemo and the Kumar brothers, remember them?

I agree, the hardcore will renew, but there are many who will be thinking why renew / be having 2nd thoughts if we dont know whats going on. If we want regular crowds of 15k+ (actual bums on seats not "absentee figures") which we should be looking to achieve as as a capital city club / as an established top 2 divisions side.

I think our hardcore is around the 10k mark...i think a good 2/3/ maybe even 4k on top of that may be thinking twice as things stand between performance and club mismanagement. We need to keep these and build further and saying nothing about where we are going is not helping i think.

Makes no sense to send out our backup striker and our youngster with the most potential on loan if we can't bring anyone in.

Well this is my 51 consecutive season as a season ticket holder, I would not stop supporting my club No matter who is running it.

As much as I dislike and believe this current Regime are one if the worst band most deceitful ever, I support my club through good and bad days.

9 years in league 4, those were bad days, I never missed a home or away game.

However rule 52.2.3 of the EFL and on which they site as the reason for the ban says that the ban will continue indefinitely until we pay Nantes . This means that if we pay Nantes then the embargo will be lifted . However , I am told that the FIFA ban is cast in stone (ie 3 windows) and can only be removed if we win our legal appeal with the Swiss Federal Court (which is highly unlikely).

Apologies if this has been already posted but I've just read Glen Williams piece on the embargo, the key information is that the FIFA ban supercedes the EFL and no players can be brought in, even to make up to the 23 that the EFL allow.

"Under EFL rules, clubs are afforded the leniency to "staff up" to 23 players, which, it was initially thought, the Bluebirds would be able to do. However, WalesOnline understands that the transfer embargo has been imposed by FIFA, which supersedes the EFL ban, which renders the prospect of bringing players in impossible".

I hope something can be done to resolve this and that discussions are mature and realistic.

fifa rules maintains the fulltime registered 24 rule , Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona have had fifa embargos on them in the last 5 years all could sign frees and loan players , Barcelona were signing in players but couldn't register coz they were up to there limit of full time registered players they sold some of there players 1st so they could registered players .
