The only badges i have are a couple from cubs in the 70's but i can see we are not progressing through the thirds. In our-

4231 its 6 at the back because WIntle and Ralls are so deep to collect the ball
433 its 7 at the back because Wintle, Ralls & Rinomhota are all defensive stoppers
442 its 8 at the back because Whyte and Ojo are not really forwards
343 its 7 at the back because the wingbacks are really defenders

Under Warnocks 433 or Malkys 4141 the defensive midfielders were 10 metes upfield because they knew the ball was about to come flying over their head and they were there for the second ball or layoff.

IMO - Hudson wants to play DJ's 442 which was really 424 but we just do not have the attacking talent to carry 4 up top and outscore teams, so its a version of Malkys attritional game mixed with a bit of Swansea's (and every wannabe) bore you to death possession game but without the skill to make it work.

He could go 4321 with Colwill and CR as real Attacking midfielders, but we are still shy of a genuine centre forward in whatever system he plays

That photo tells a story. I think there’s a huge crisis of confidence beginning with Hudson. I wish he’d speak normally. God help us if that’s how he talks to the team.

A simple change would have the front 3 start deeper, too often there are right up standing around then get lobbed a ball, i mean is Philo and Ojo going to win many headers?

Get them deeper so we have the option to pass in front and they can run on to balls
