Colwill benched again already... No consistency in team selection - it looks like change for changes sake though I do think Hudson is right to drop Philogene who has looked way off the pace since his return.

Lightweight up top with White and Harris. Hope I’m proved wrong!

4-3-3 ?

A couple of bits of headline news from the team. Firstly, big positive that Callum Robinson has passed the late fitness test and he comes straight into the starting lineup to lead the line in a front three alongside Mark Harris and Gavin Whyte.
Kion Etete doesn't quite make the squad.
Also, it looks like Cardiff will employ a back three this afternoon, with Perry Ng, Cedric Kipre and Jack Simpson as the three central defenders with Tom Sang, who comes in for the injured Mahlon Romeo, and Callum O'Dowda on the flanks.
Rubin Colwill and Isaak Davies are both named on the bench, along with Jaden Philogene and Sheyi Ojo - Mark Hudson has a lot of attacking options at his disposal

I expect rotation with back to back games in quick succession. Robinson and Harris combined well in the win over Boro let's hope the same today. Etete and his height is a miss though. Take a draw again today but need a win.

Every game there seems to be another player out injured. What on Earth is going on in training someone needs to take a good close look at the training sessions. Never known Cardiff have so many problems with injured players.

Who’s injured mate? Could be just rest between big turnover of matches. Too many games vould lead to injury with some players.

The screen is showing that we are playing 4 at the back …… this is not true . Hudson has introduced Simpson as a 3rd. C1/2 …… with Sang and O’Dowda as wingbacks . I like this because Blackburn have a very potent forward line . I don’t normally like wingbacks … but for today it’s not a bad call .
Blackburn are on a very bad run… so a good time to play them.
Had to be 3pts City

I agree. As long as they are positive when we’re in possession or breaking, wing banks can be an attacking formation

Virtually only Etete who has a slight knock mate.
But don’t try to stop this naive, miserable sod talking nonsense.

Interesting to listen to matchday commentators, who believe Mark Hudson is checking certain players for a clearout, as they are 'not his players' and he needs to put his own stamp on the squad
Can't see that myself after the summer changes plus the embargo and I understand Hudson is under more than some pressure from the owner
We really need a win from this tougher than some suggest fixture but I would accept a draw
A loss will just fuel the fires of unrest and the scales are finely balanced currently

Well, that's another New Year's Resolution out of the window from Victor P Meldrew...

A poor back pass (if that's what it was?) from just inside the half-way line from Kipre, sees Allsop scramble back towards his goal to block a long range shot with his feet
Luckily, it came to nothing and the game slowly warms up and City get an offside decision to prevent Rovers taking the lead, although everyone else had stopped in expectation
Ng and Sang need to communicate better with the clear Blackburn threat

Great ball in from Wintle sees a dangerous ball just evade O'Dowda
Excellent play that shows we are capable of stinging Blackburn, who have started the game the brighter of the two teams

Free-kick to the Bluebirds after a (yellow card) foul sees the ball put into the Blackburn box only for Harris to be at the wrong angle to get a decent shot in
Blackburn immediately respond and see themselve have a decent attack that is thwarted by the Bluebird defence
Gavin Whyte is then sent through but a great challenge from Blackburn's Garrick (on a yellow card) sees the ball put out for a corner, which comes to nothing and the Bluebirds are then penalised for a non-foul where the Blackburn player wasn't touched
Not a dull game so far...

Perry Ng lucky to get away with one after pulling the hair of the Blackburn player as they leaped for a ball
Some good work from Sang, O'Dowda and Harris sees another threatening Bluebird attack
At the back we are looking a tad unsettled and Blackburn are being encouraged a little too much
Jack Simpson gets a yellow card for a nasty high tackle on Jake Garrett. It might have been worse with a poorer referee...
