“ Cardiff City Striker to be sent out on loan ‘

Sat Dec 31, 2022 11:21 am

Striker Max Watters who is 24 yrs old in a couple of months , once branded the £million striker by Glen Williams & Dalman, but was actually £200,000 to much and has already been sent out on loan to MK Dons and has only scored 1 goal in 22 appearances for the Bluebirds will once again be sent out on loan to a lower league club.

Plus:

Ollie Tanner yet to make the first team will be going out on loan and will be 21 yrs old on his return.

Vontae Campbell is now lined lined up for a loan away, with more to follow:

Watters is awful and needs to go. I’m thinking club know best on the other 2 but it worries me that we’re sending 2 players out when we’re under an embargo

I fear that is the end of Watters with us.

I don't know much about the other 2 but for the fact they joined us this summer. Considering they were meant to be part of our new way this just showed what a mess we have made of it.

It going to take a couple of seasons for us to straighten our bent bat that we have created. That is if we manage to get the right person in to achieve that.

When you bring in 17 new players in one window mostly on free transfers there were always going to be a few duds, I think it makes sense for the various reasons stated that they go out in this window, I could clear the decks to get the odd loan player in.

On that subject, I have read a few conflicting reports of what we can and cannot do under the current embargo so I dont know what can be done if anything ? :bluescarf:

We can bring in a loanee if we send a loanee out.

There is criteria to meet and that is we must pay the new loanee the same as the one we give out. Providing there is no capital loss for us that is. I think that is the criteria.

If we can bring one or two in, then I agree with you. Hopefully Tanner will be good to go next season

Watters had his chance and failed at this level. His confidence looks shot too. I wish the lad well though and he'll probably have a decent career in the lower leagues. If we are loaning out players this does suggest we are hoping to make some changes to the squad in the window. Morison scoffed at the suggestion of signing Andy Carroll who was unattached at the start of the season. Foolish. He is exactly the sort of player we need now. We need some old heads and experience even if its off the bench in games. Lets hope it is still possible to make some changes to the squad even if we remain in an embargo.

I don’t fear it’s the end of Watters with us, I’ll rejoice it. He’s bunk.

Tanner was always one for the near future and looks promising so it’s a good move for him.

Like you, I don’t know much about Campbell but he looked just ok when I saw him play.

We can bring in loan players but we can't pay any fee for them and the parent club must cover 100% of the wages. We can't spend any money on players.

That's not true , it's we must pay all the wages and not just a percentage.
