Mark Robins says Cardiff players went down to easily and looked for a draw


Coventry City boss Mark Robins was frustrated by his side's stalemate with Cardiff on Thursday night and claimed Bluebirds players went down too easily to disrupt the home side's momentum.

His opposite number, Mark Hudson, was left delighted with a point at the CBS Arena but Robins was in less generous mood towards Cardiff's approach to the fixture.




Mark Robins:

"I think it was clear that they set up to frustrate us and that’s been the story of their last few games," he said.

"They set up to take a point, they are looking for a draw and they’ve done it which is really disappointing for us.”



"We didn’t get any space or room and it was a really niggly game where they were going down at every opportunity to slow things down and the rhythm wasn’t there.”

"If you can’t win then don’t lose, and we avoided that in a tricky game. We were trying to attack and score, and then you end up with gaps and they’ll exploit them. We didn’t have that killer touch.”

"We almost scored with a couple of good chances, and a decent opportunity in the first half, but it was hard to find some space to break them down on a really difficult pitch. We had some good chances, some balls into the box, and decent moves. We were moving the ball but they were sat behind it and looked to defend and it can become difficult."

That was a quite good game, we did go down nice and easy and looked much more professional, we've been far too honest all season and it's cost us points, well done Hudson and the team that was a good point, if you can't beat them join them.

I love these sanctimonious accusations of shitehousery from managers, like they never give gamesmanship instructions to their own players.
