A VIEW FROM THE ARMCHAIR (CCFC v CCFC)

Thu Dec 29, 2022 10:13 pm

I did think we faded as an attacking force, so a golless draw has to be seen as a positive result...

Although I still say we have a decent squad for this Division, I do worry where the goals are going to come from?

Without Robinson and Etete, Hartis was left isolated too often and without a channel in which to put the ball. To be fair to him, he tried and worked hard and it is no good other players throwing their arms up when they are well behind the play...

The first half started well with the Bluebirds on top, but Coventry came more into it and by half-time had the better opportunities

The second half was a lot more inconsistent but still either side might have scored the only goal required to take the 3 points on offer

From the Bluebird point of view, it was a good point made better by keeping another clean sheet against a resurgent opposition

Allsop, Kipre, Ralls, O'Dowda and Colwill were the puck of the bunch and with some forward support this team would pull away from danger

Well done, Bluebirds; another point for the total...! :ayatollah:

Really fair assessment, i thought ralls, o'dowda and colwill combined really well in the first half.

A very balanced summary. We are a struggling team with limited quality and we've battled for a point without our two main strikers. That deserves credit. If we are to stay up we need to battle, be ugly and win points where ever we can. Since the restart we are at least competitive and hard to beat.
