A heads up to all fellow bluebirds
Went to Tenerife from Bristol airport for World Cup
Just received a fixed penalty notice from Bristol council for £120 plus a £9 clean air zone charge reduced to £60 plus £9 total £69 if paid within 28 days photo of car and number plate enclosed with summons absolutely livid as we did not know such charge existed so if your off on holiday flying from Bristol BEWARE hope this helps someone else getting caught

There is a section of the zone along the Portway area and a popular route from South Wales to to Bristol airport.
A quick look at the vehicles to pay seem to include petrol cars pre 2005 and diesels much later at about pre 2015 ish.

So if you pay? £9...does that make the air cleaner?

I use Bristol airport a lot. I went last week but my car was exempt form the charges.
The crafty bastards have included the last part of the Portway underneath the Clifton suspension bridge which is nowhere near the city centre to catch the airport traffic!
You can pay the £9 charge before your journey or after it.

Which way?
If you go down to j21 and take a big loop to the airport you may as well pay the extra 9 quid instead of the extra fuel.

I just got mine from November yesterday, £129 fuming. Such a f*cking con, didn't even know about it.
Came off m5 early and went through some lanes on the way in and didn't get one for that. Sorry don't know road names lol.

Always stay on M5 until services and then head for Barrow Gurney via Failand, use the sat nav.
