Thoughts? “One more job Sharon”

He’d certainly keep us up!

No we need to move forward not backwards

This is not the first mention of Neil Warnock since yesterday...

Guesstimates or not, that is the real question for you? ;)

Chris
Not sure we got players to suit his style but what he does is get team up the field Into opposition penalty area very quickly which by coincidence is our main problem we are to slow .. but reluctantly it's a no but if hes coming no problem with it.

Warnock plays the way he does with whatever players he has got, we have no one here to lump the ball up to, so he would not be able to play that way.
We have players who can pass the ball, so I think having Wanock back now would definitely keep us up.
What he as got that Morison and Hudson do not have is experience, and with the players we have now he would do a good job till the end of the season, and then perhaps VT and the board will at last realize that we need an experienced manager in,
Shaun Dyche is still available :ayatollah:

Rog, it's an interesting one, as it was mentioned to me yesterday, which if true, then puts Hudson's position in question

I always remember two Warnock quotes that show him to be a manager of the players at his disposal rather than of a specific style of play...

The first was when asked if he could justufy hus teams playing style, where his resonse was simply, "What? Winning?", and the second, "Did you ever see my QPR side play with Abel Terrabt in it?"

I certainly wouldn't fight his short-term appointment, if it were to happen, but equally I am not sure there isn't some residue from his previous tenure that makes a return unlikely (at best)

Yes Chris it certainy is, but from what I understand VT loves him to bits, if true he is the man who decides

Well he wont play o'dowda at full back and he will certainly know how to get best out of rest team that's for sure.... something Hudson is failing to do.

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Is this the joke of the day. He's past it old school only knows one way of playing its the whack it up Warnock way. Who wants a crick neck again? What's the panic not in relegation zone still 20 games left to play. Just give Hudson and the team a chance. If people really think Warnocks the answer god help our team.

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Tue Dec 27, 2022 3:17 pm

No brainer. Absolutely yes. Why? Because he would keep us up and we simply cannot afford to go down especially with forthcoming embargos. And then at the end of the season make him Director of football so that the committee has someone who understands football, the fans and the community at large

Chris, personally, I’m rarely if ever one to go back but right now I would have Warnock back no problem as long as it was to the end of the season only.

Either that or push the boat out for Dyche but I can’t see that happening.

Next season must be a change of manager regardless of what happens.

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Absolutely yes

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Tue Dec 27, 2022 3:56 pm

Not for me. I appreciate what he did for the club, but we’ve broken the mould to change our style to a more modern one.
Which we have to remember, all players are coached in nowadays from schoolboy upwards. So if we go back on it I think we’ll only be attractive to below average senior players who need a contract or youngsters who can outmuscle but not outplay their peers. And forever be a backwater.
Have to keep the faith, plough on and look to improve.

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Tue Dec 27, 2022 3:59 pm

No, for a number of reasons. I don't want us to go back to hoofball. We don't have the players to play hoofball. If he came and did keep us up, we'd be back to square 1 next season looking for a manager to change our style of play again. His last championship season was a disaster, spent a lot of money and got very little return from it. From what I've read (might not be true of course), but I don't like his involvement with agent mckay and his sons/his own son who is a football agent.

We need to look forward, not backwards. This squad is talented enough to beat the drop. We just need to be more clinical eith the chances we do create. I want Hudson to succeed but I don't think he has the experience we need to push us forwards. If we can't sign players, we should definitely look to improve our coaching setup.

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Tue Dec 27, 2022 4:14 pm

If he does come, it's a good job there's a transfer embargo because his transfer dealings got us in this mess. Do not ever let him sign a player. Not one.

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Tue Dec 27, 2022 4:18 pm

I’d bring him back as Director of Football, which is what this club needs. He could give a little guidance to Hudson too.
But Dalmon himself has stopped it previously.

There are plenty of highlights on Youtube etc of our games in the promotion season. Perhaps have a look over a few before writing it off as 'hoof ball'...

Certainly not hoofball but a unique style? Funny thing is we have pace in side in abundance if only it was used.... nw will certainly use it as we were the best team in league for getting into opposition penalty area in his reign. To garauntee staying up he is the one

Totally agree.

When we won our first 5 games it wasn’t hoofball.

I think you prejudicially miss what Warnock is about...

Winning football that suits the players he has at his disposal

Given what iGovernor says above if Mark Hudson doesn't start getting positive results, I can see it happening until the end of the season with a simple brief: KEEP US IN THE DIVISION! :ayatollah:

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Warnock is far better than Hudson, but I would like to move forward, but we never will under Hudson.

Did you watch us after relegation? It was definitely hoofball. Very badly done as well.

It was grim, yes, but the energy and spark had gone out of the squad and the manager.

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

We can look at it 3 ways we can play it forward with warnock wanting it up the field as soon as which ever way
or we can do what we do now where wintle plays it back to kipre or the keeper and back again or the wing backs stop at the half way line and then turn back to kipre and keeper
We need wingers like mendez lang or ryan giles and an attacking commitment to take the game to the opposition.
